Smitty P.O.V.

I lightly blinked my eyes open and squinted from an extremely bright light above me. I leaned up to see Evan and Ohm rushing around a small white room filled with all sorts of equipment and pill cabinets. Sinks and medical tables were on every corner of the room. A small blood splatter could be seen on the handle of a drawer. That wasn't exactly comforting.

"Oh good, you're awake." Ohm gave me half of a smile before helping Evan onto a pair of crutches. I shook my head to make sure what I was seeing wasn't a fluke. Ohm was practically covered in dry blood and Evan was on crutches? What the hell?

"Um. Where are we? What happened to you guys?" I took another look around the room. "Where's John?"

"John is fine." Evan answered lightly tugging at his shirt. I looked down to see his ankle bent weirdly and gagged at Ohm's appearance, covering my mouth to keep anything from coming out. A metallic stench filled the room.

"Is he though?" Ohm butted in loudly. Evan gave him a glare before Ohm shrugged his shoulders and stalked over to the medicine cabinet, shuffling through the contents. "You have a slight fever." He reached down low for a pill bottle and winced in pain coming back up. "Take two." He threw me an unlabeled pill bottle. Inside was tiny red pills. I grabbed two and swallowed them. Ohm and Evan both gave me weird looks.

"No water?" Evan asked offering a small cup of water. I tilted my head to the side.

"Are you supposed to take pills with water?" Ohm smacked his forehead and leaned on a counter top.

"How are you still alive without the knowledge that normal human beings have?" He grabbed some bandages from a counter and threw his hoodie off. In his chest was a large hole that was leaking red. He wrapped the wound in bandages and before he could even get all the way around his chest the bandages were soaked. He groaned and peeled them off, grabbing a new pair and walking to the sink. He took the water cup from Evan and began to clean out the wound.

"I'm going to the main security room. When I come back, we can go to the meeting spot." Evan instructed Ohm. Ohm gave a slow nod and pressed some more water to his chest, rubbing away more blood with a white towel. Evan looked over at my confused face and sighed. "And explain to him what is going on so he stops making that face." Ohm let out a noise of agreement and Evan hobbled to the door of the room. Once he was out it was just me and Ohm.

I waited for several minutes for an explanation, but it never came. I just listened to the sound of rushing water and the occasional grunt of pain from Ohm. I watched him weave the bandages around his newly cleaned chest and tape them on. After he threw the supplies into a random drawer he came over and sat on the medical table I was on. He leaned back until his bareback was touching my pants. He closed his eyes and took in a deep breath.

"I don't know what to do." He said quietly. I shifted my gaze to him.

"To do about what?" I tilted my head to see if he was looking at me. His eyes wandered across the ceiling but never once looked to me. I leaned back and waited for some kind of response.

"Cartoonz broke down and ended up hurting me. I know he feels bad, but I just can't get this feeling out of my mind that it is going to happen again and he's going to do worse...much worse." Ohm covered his eyes with his forearm. I heard him sniffle lightly but stifle it. "I love him too much to leave. I want to be with him for forever. I can't keep going like this." A small tear escaped his arm and ran down his cheek. He wiped it away with his sleeve and continued to cover his eyes. Almost, ashamed at what was happening.

"Then talk to him."

"I tried." He answered feebly.

"Ohm." I stared at him.

"Smitty."

"Did you really talk about it? Or did you just forgive him?" His breathing stopped and he lifted his arm off his eyes. They were red and puffy. I knew  that they both loved each other very much. Ohm would never be ready to lose him. So I am just assuming that he didn't really talk to him at all.

"I forgave him." I waited a few seconds before answering. I was too far gone to stop helping him now.

"Don't."

"I can't just not forgive him. I love him!" He got extremely defensive, but I kept my composure. For some reason I identified with what he was saying. I don't know why, but I knew exactly what to say.

"You don't have to forgive him to love him. Make him realize that he made a mistake and he is going to lose you if he makes it again. You can't just encourage this behavior."

"But he doesn't have any control over it! I can't do that to him!"

"You think he is going to take the steps to change without motivation? So far, he hasn't. Tell him that and I guarantee something will change." Ohm stared at me. Almost gave me a look of, how would you know? I just shrugged and lifted myself from the table. "Or don't. But nobody, and I mean NOBODY, strives to make a change unless it benefits them in some way."

I started to walk towards the door when the lights flickered slightly. Ohm and I jumped off the table in surprise. Evan came rushing through the door, the best he could on crutches, and gave Ohm and I a wave.

"Let's go to the meeting spot. The guys should be done by now, or at least I hope so."
