During this time was the science fair. While most students were by themselves or in pairs, Sabrina, Harvey and I were working together. Mainly because I never participated in a science fair before and preferred reading in the back of the class as it was an optional thing.
However, this time, the science fair will count as part of our grade and if I don't participate, my grade would go from A to C-. So I agree but ask the teacher if I could work with Sabrina and Harvey as I work better with those two. So hurray to that. And if I had to admit. I had fun helping out with Chester, the mouse of our experiment. Anything better than working with Gem. More on her soon.
"This next experiment will test how long it takes Chester to ride the scooter around the cones and get to the cheese." Sabrina said. "Let's get ready to cheese!" I said as Sabrina and Harvey laughed at the joke. Success!
"Okay, Harvey. Ready? And go." Sabrina said as she opened Chester's cage. Harvey started the timer. Chester sniffed the scooter. "Come on. It's what we talked about before." I pleaded under my breath. However, he just ran for the cheese instead and ate it. "Ugh. Why Chester?" I groaned with a facepalm.
"Well, that's didn't go very well, did it?" Harvey asked as he stopped the timer. "I don't understand it. Chester should be a genius by now. We've trained him for months, fed him a special IQ diet." Sabrina wondered. "Don't forget all those mouse therapy sessions." Harvey said while I looked at him confused.
"You gave Chester, a mouse, therapy sessions? For reals? I thought that was a joke." I asked him. "Yeah. Mouses have rights too, you know!" Harvey said, as if he was going to become the George Washington of the mouses. "Okay, you're right." I said with a sly tone as I remembered when Harvey suggested it.
*Flashback*
"Hey Aaron. I know how we can make Chester go on the scooter." Harvey told me. "How?" I asked. "I'm gonna give him mouse therapy." Harvey told me, as I spit out my water. "What? Are you serious?" I asked him.
"Yes, why?" He asked me. "Because then you might make this a job and become famous! Wait till Gem finds out what it's like to be second-rate!" I said with a smirk, yet thinking Harvey was joking.
*Present time*
"Well, we can still win. The science fair isn't until tomorrow." Sabrina said. "I don't know. The competition looks pretty stiff." Harvey said, worried. "Especially with her and her cheating ways around us." I said, pointing behind me with my thumb. "Huh?" Sabrina asked, looking behind me to see Gem 'Gem' Stone.
"If it isn't my favorite rat wranglers." Gem said to us. "Hi Gem." We replied to her, clearly disinterested with her snobbish ways. "Oh look at that. You taught a mouse to eat cheese. What a breakthrough." Gem said sarcastically. "You know, Gem. We don't all have the money to hire a team of German scientists to do our projects for us." Sabrina said while pointing at said scientists.
"Oh them? They're just giving me a little hand. Cloning my dog. Face it, Spellman, that reject rat doesn't stand a chance and you know it. Harvey, Aaron, it's not too late to join my exhibit. We can share first prize." Gem said to Harvey and me.
"Nah, I'll think I'll stick with Chester here. Thanks anyways." Harvey said. "And I rather watch paint dry than be near cloning tech, so no way." I added while crossing my arms. "Winning isn't everything, Gem." Sabrina said. "How would you know, Spellman? You never win." Gem retorted back.
"Uh, students? Students! May I have your attention for a moment? I just receive some exciting news! The judge for tomorrow Greendale science fair will be none other than Professor Nate Houston!" The teacher said. "Who?" Some of the other students asked, even me since I never paid much attention in science.
