Aaron's P.O.V.-Sunday Morning-BMX Park
"You may have broken my record this year, but I'll beat you next you!" That's what I said to Chloe as we talked about how she's broken my record from last year, yesterday.
"You wish! I beat you this year, I'll beat you next year too!" challenged Chloe.
"Not if I free all of those bears first!" I smirked, before Chloe and I laughed and shook on it, conditions set for next year's games, the same games we've been playing against each other for 4 years. The very first one just a month before we became friends.
"So, wanna watch the bike race?" Chloe asked, glancing at the track while the crowd cheered around us.
"Maybe. Hopefully Sabrina and Harvey will be able to beat Floyd and Slugloafe." I shrugged as we turned our attentions back to the track, using binoculars to see the race in the distance.
To explain why we have binoculars, we're kids! Why answer when you could just go out and get one?
"Give it up, Spellman! You and Harvey are no match for me and Slugloafe!" Floyd, a random classmate, exclaimed as he pedaled, with Sabrina pedaling in front of him.
"Oh yeah, Floyd?! You and Slugloafe will eat our dust!" Sabrina shouted back as she pedaled over a small bump, launching into the air for a brief moment before landing once again.
Also, to answer your question on how I hear from long distances, did any of you already forgot I'm a Saiyan hybrid?
Anyways, Sabrina and Floyd biked over mud and around the bends, getting neck-and-neck as they approached the finish line, where Slugloafe and Harvey were waiting for the former two to arrive.
"The hunk of junk store called. They want your bike back." Slugloafe roasted Harvey.
Sabrina slapped Harvey's outstretched hand, allowing him to bike now. "Go, Harvey!" Sabrina exclaimed as Harvey biked away just as Floyd slapped Slugloafe's hand, allowing the latter to go too.
"The last lap, go! Woo hoo!" exclaimed Sabrina as Chloe and I turned our binoculars towards Harvey and Slugloafe.
"Time for a little detour, Kinkle." Slugloafe laughed before hitting Harvey's bike from behind, causing him to nearly hit a tree.
Harvey got back on the track and was neck-and-neck with Slugloafe before passing him.
"Ha! You have to do better than that!" Harvey taunted as he pedaled past Slugloafe.
"Go, Harvey!" Sabrina cheered over the sounds of the cheering crowd.
"How are you doing, handling the crowd cheering?" Chloe asked, knowing that loud noises and me do not mix well.
"Good, considering the fact I'm tuning them out," I said, doing just that. Works well, especially after years of practice.
However, Harvey's chain on his bike snapped, causing him to crash in the haystacks. Hey, on the plus side, he gotten a soft landing. Fine, that pun sucked anyways.
Slugloafe cross the finish line, much to everyone's shock, while Chloe and I dropped our binoculars. Good thing they were cheap.
"Ah!" Slugloafe cheered before seeing that the crowd wasn't cheering for him; instead, they were talking amongst themselves before groaning.
"What? I won! Cheer." Slugloafe commanded, upset that the crowd wasn't inflating his precious ego, a ego all men have.
(Except me, of course, I have a fragile self-esteem, but it's still intact thanks to the power of friendship and family!)
