The next time Sabrina caused issues was when they announced the Student of the Year award. It had been a week since my parents been home and I been training hard with both my physical training with my mother and my magical training with my father. I gave to use that spell that replaces coffee since in my eyes, and taste, the drink sucks.

Anyways, the day that the Student of the Year award was announced. It started with this announcement. "Remember students. The school assembly starts in five minutes. Of course, this is a mandatory school assembly, which means a week detention to any student even a split second late!" The voice on the intercom announced as we were in the halls.

"Oh come on! That's a bit harsh." I said as we ran, with me ahead of Harvey, Chloe, Pi and Sabrina. Not trying to brag, just a result of the training I endured. "Thanks students." The voice said. "Where the off button when you need it?" I asked sarcastically.

Soon we were in the auditorium. "Listening to Ares would've been better than this." I grumbled under my breath. Only for said god to appear on my shoulder. "Does this mean you taken my offer to be a warlord worthy of being Xena's successor?" Ares asked me with a smug smirk.

Only for me to fling him away with my fingers. "Not a chance." I told him. "You'll see reason one day! Arghh!" Ares yelled in pain once hitting the wall and sliding down it. "I'm in pain." He said once on the ground.

"Name me one single thing more boring than Monday morning assemblies." Chloe said to Sabrina and me. "Easy, watching paint dry. Oh wait, that's rather entertaining right now. How about Gem's birthday party?" I asked.

"No, that's not it, Aaron. It's my Uncle Lou's new wife, the one who gave up being a school librarian to write a book about being a school librarian." Sabrina said. "Self-ego boost, much?" I asked sarcastically as we took our seats, me sitting next to Harvey and Sabrina.

"So, any guesses what today's assembly will be about?" Harvey asked us. "Maybe they will finally ship Gem to a different country." I said a bit eagerly. "Aaron, that's what you said about the last twenty assemblies and that never happened. What makes think it will this time?" Chloe asked me. "Twenty-first time the charm?" I asked.

"Nah, it probably Hallway Safety Part 2." Sabrina said, holding up two fingers. "The importance of flossing?" Chloe brought up. "The joys of stamp collecting?" Sabrina mocked. "And there are a million stamp collectors that wants your blood now." I said in slight horror.

"Stamp collecting? Really? Now that is righteous!" Pi said while looking at a stamp with a magnifying glass. "Except for him." I whispered to Sabrina behind my hand while pointing at Pi with my thumb as we all looked at him in confusion. "You disagree?" He asked us. "No, just we each have our own hobbies." I said.

"Students of Greendale Middle School!" The vice principal said. Another student with long hair that was going up sat in front of Sabrina, blocking her view. "It's that time of the year again. Time to select the Student of the Year." The vice principal said just as Sabrina made the hair invisible so she can see. "Sabreeny, you know we can't do that in public. You're lucky no one else saw." I silently scolded her. "No one saw, though." She said. "That's beyond the point." I said.

"The student whose picture will be added to our own beloved Greendale Middle School Wall of Achievements!" The vice principal continued as fanfare music came on. Where did they came from? I see no speakers or marching band. "Drats, they're not sending Gem away! Maybe next time." I said sadly.

"It can't be!" Sabrina exclaimed. "Yes. And every year, one student has his or her picture added to this wall. And that student is selected based on the performance of academic performance, athletic achievement, citizenship, and popularity to become Student of the Year!" The vice principal said. "Wow, we're really laying it thick with the award, are we?" I asked under my breath sarcastically. "No!" Sabrina exclaimed, causing everyone to turned and look at her while I just covered my face with my hat in embarrassment.
