Chapter Seventeen - Cass

A/N seeing as I keep dropping off the face of the Earth and forget to write/update, I've decided to update a tiny bit earlier. Also this is kinda a small chapter and I really want to let you read it.

I sat on the swing in the playground with my head in my book.
"Oooooh!" Came a voice from in front of me. "What is she doing?!"
I looked up and saw Mabel and her gang standing in front of me.
"It looks like she's reading!" Laughed Fifi. She only stuck around with Mabel for protection.
I stayed silent and kept on reading.
"Hey!" Gigi hit me on the back of my head. "We're talking to you!"
"Leave me alone." I said in a voice that was barely a whisper.
"What did Mouthface say?" A girl said.
"I think she wants to fight Mabel!" Fifi shouts.
The shout causes other kids in the playground to see what's going on and soon a chant of "Fight! Fight! Fight!" spread around them.
I was soon pinned to the ground by Mabel, and my book was being torn to shreds by Gigi while Fifi surveyed the scene and encouraged others to come and watch the horror unfold.
Eventually a teacher came to sort the mess out. When he asked who started it everyone pointed at me.
But then a small girl stepped in front of me.
"Cassie didn't start the fight," she told the teacher.
"Who did then?" He asked.
The girl didn't answer.
"Who's gonna own up then? Hmm." The teacher asked.
No one answered.
He raised his eyebrow.
"Ok, then. Cassandra and Mabel you will be in detention during much tomorrow." The teacher said and he walked away.
As soon as the crowd had left, the girl who stood up up for me came over and helped me up.
"You alright?" She asked.
"Yeah." I whispered.
"I'm Elibet," She said, "and you are Cassie, aren't you?"
I nodded.
"Do you want to be friends?"

"Where the hell did she come from?"
