A dark shadow whispered, making his report to his master at the study.

Sun Rui had a dark smile on his handsome face.

"Is that what she said?

The figure made futher reports before vanishing into the darkness.

Sun Rui stood up from his seat. He looked at the painting before him on the wall.

The figure was not drawn with clean lines. It was a lady in a grand Empress dress in soft hues. At her waist was a dangling jade charm.

Sun Rui's eyes gentled as he traced a finger softly down the outlines of the figure.

And snickered at what he had heard.

"Did that fake really think this Crown Prince's love for her was real? To think that she had managed to hide her pregnancy till now."

The man behind him stepped forward, bowing respectfully.

"Wangye. This servant feels that Madam did so out of love for you. The first three months of pregnancy is uncertain. She probably wanted to wait till the pregnancy was stable before announcing to you."

Sun Rui's eyes hardened.

"Prepare the abortion soup. Give it to her as early as you can. Do not let her find out about it."

The man paled. He quickly bowed lower.

"Wangye, this servant must ask Wangye to reconsider. Having a dragon child born now will further solidify your status and push down the objections from the former First and Fourth Prince's ministers."

Sun Rui turned his eyes to glare at the man.

"How dare a servant like you... Order this prince around?"

The man paled even further and then took a step back, sweat dripping down his forehead.

"This servant misspoke. May Wangye punish."

Sun Rui turned his head again towards the painting. At least, she, here, was not rejecting him.

"Just do as I said. Do not let Madam know. Make it into an accident. I want that child gone."

And as if remembering something important, Sun Rui turned around to give a warning glare.

"And do not let her hear about Madam's pregnancy. Any servants who dares to say a word will have their tongues cut."

The man before him shuddered and nodded.

"As Wangye wishes."

Once certain that he was alone, Sun Rui continued his obsessive stare at the painting.

"No one..."

His finger trailed the outline of the woman's face in the picture gently

"No one understands Ah Chen more than I do. If...," Sun Rui frowned indiscernably, speaking as if someone was there, "... Ah Chen knows that her sister was pregnant... She would definitely leave me."

His heart was pained by the thought.

That's right. Su Chen would leave him if she knew.

That was how she died in the first place in his dreams.

He would not make the same mistake again.

Anyone could die. But not her.

He would not bear the pain another time.
