Part 5: Going up in flames

Liam's POV

For some reason now I'm somewhat excited for school, but what I'm most interested in is the girl from the beach she's kind of mysterious, I feel like she's hiding something, but I don't know what it is, but I'm going to find out one way or another, wait, football tryouts are on today and I still don't know how to play!

Athena's POV

Unlike yesterday, the warm sunshine spilling into my bedroom is now being replaced by dark thunderous clouds raining heavily, the rain against the thin metal roof of my trailer makes each drop sound like a bullet making it impossible for me to sleep.

I'm gonna try and make it to school early today, so I get my hands on this book from the library that I need for school, I grab my heavy school bag from the corner of my room and take a bite out of a blueberry muffin that layed on the kitchen counter the day I got here.

Getting accustomed to human life is proving to be harder than I thought, there's like a feeling in my head that I shouldn't be here, that probably explains the headaches I get every night.

I push forward against the brass handles of the old library of North Barrow high, the library sort of sat in a weird position in the school it was in the far corner opposite the football field isolated from everything else, I somewhat felt safe there. I don't think I'm going to stick around with Harley anymore but at least I'm friends with James. 

"Need any help darling?" a short woman asked from behind me

"Um, no thanks," I said 

Wait a second, was I just friendly to that woman?

No.

No.

This is not okay, people around me are starting to influence my behaviour and I can't have that, I need to grab this stupid book and get the hell out of here.

 I step into a random aisle and start looking for the history section, wait is that it? Yes finally, I place my hand on the book and attempt to pull it out of the shelve but it won't come out, what the hell? I look into the shelves and it turns out someone is trying to take the book from the other side, dang he has a firm grip!

"Excuse me I kind of need this!" I say getting irritated by the situation

"Yeah as do I!" someone's voice says sounding a bit aggravated 

"Well I'm taking it," I say pulling harder on the book but it's no use

" I don't think so princess," He says pulling even harder.

Liam's POV

Liam what are you doing starting a fight with a random girl?! You're supposed to be spreading goodness not fighting, just give her the book, and just like that, I give in and let go of the book, time to apologise. I sigh as I walk around the shelve only to be met with the same beautiful girl from the beach, I don't know why I see her all the time, it's like destiny brings us together all the time, wait, no that sounds stupid. She turns around and her crystal grey eyes meet mine.

"Oh not you again," She says turning around

Athena's POV

Oh shit, it's angel boy, say something to make him like you! But I say the first thing that comes to mind.

"Oh not you again," I say dismissively

"You know what? take the book, I'll ask for another copy," He says smiling

Ew why is he smiling?

"I'm Liam by the way," He says

"Athena," I say dryly
