Part 18: Another shot at love

Athena's POV

"Just come with me," He says taking my hand.

Reluctantly I follow, "Are you going to kill me or something?" I ask

"That's a sin, so no," He says, leading me into the forest.

"What do you want from me?" I ask getting impatient

"Athena I just want to talk to you, have you ever been in a relationship before?" He asks

"Yes," I say, what does this have to do with anything?

"Tell me what it means to love someone," He says

For the first time, I'm lost for words, of course, I know what love is, me and Axel have been dating for ages but I can't get anything out.

"I-I don't know," I say barely a whisper

Liam holds onto my hands, sending a warm sensation through my body, he looks up at me with his crystal blue eyes and says

"Let me teach you," He says

My brain is telling me to run away but my heart is telling me to sit still,

"Let's start from the beginning, my name is Liam, I'm 17, tell me something I don't know about you," He says

"Okay, Ever since I got here I've had all this pressure on me, my dad is the one who sent me here, he's Hades, I just wanted to make him proud of me for once," I can feel tears well up in my eyes

"My boyfriend, Axel, was the one that made me do all of those horrible things to you, and to others," I say tears streaming down my face, I never thought I would open up to Liam like this but everything's just pouring out like I've kept it inside for too long.

"Athena, you don't have to do this, you don't have to be like your dad and do what your boyfriend says, you are your own person and no one can take that away.

"w-why aren't you judging me?" I ask

"It's all in the power of forgiveness," He says

"Just think about, does it really make you happy, spreading evil and destroying lives, is that the path you want to take?" He asks

I think long and hard about this, does it make me happy? Or did I just do it to make Axel happy? 

"I think I want to change," I say

"It's easy," He says

"Can I just ask something?" I ask, he nods

"Why did your sister do that to me, the day at the church?" I ask

"Mariah just wanted to prove something to me," He says

"She could've done it without torturing me," I say

"I know, but if you get to know her she really is the sweetest sister and she looks out for me," He says.

"I wish I had someone like that in my life," I say

"Liam what did you do when you found out about me?" I ask a couple of seconds pass before he answers.

"Well, I was kind of in denial, then I was angry, then sad, but I learnt how to cope with it, after all, you were still the beautiful girl I met at the beach that day," He says causing a smile to spread across my face.

"By the way, Axel sounds like an absolute ass," He says, I laugh at this.

"Agreed, consider him dumped," I giggle.

"Athena, will you have me back?"  He asks

"Yes,"
