Part 7: A second chance

Athena's POV

Gee nice going Athena, so much for getting close to Liam, I've probably scared him off by now or even made him more suspicious, I need to make things right.

The fire brigade arrived at school and after half an hour of standing around teachers started to say that it was clear to go back in, Harley stuck by me the whole time and told me that it wasn't my fault, as annoying as she is I appreciated her being there for me as well as asking me a bunch of questions like how it happened but I just dismissed them by saying I don't know but that answer seemed to satisfy her. As much as I love to cause chaos from time to time I definitely didn't mean to set the whole school on fire.

Groups of classes started to make their way back into school and I saw Liam about to walk back in.

"Liam wait," I sigh

He turns around and raises his eyebrow, to be honest, I'm not surprised I'd be creeped out too by a girl with fiery red eyes sending threats.

"Look, I think we got onto the wrong foot, you see, transitioning for me has been really hard but I was wondering if you wanted to give me a second chance? W-will you go on a date with me?" I blurt out sounding unsure of myself no doubt.

Liam's POV

There's a voice in my head that's saying no but my heart wants to say yes, but she's kind of creepy, But Mariah always told me that everyone deserves a second chance, I guess even if that means if they have burning red eyes.

"Fine but isn't the guy meant to do the asking?" I ask

"Well yeah, but let's just say that I'm not afraid to break tradition," She says stepping closer until her chest is against mine.

"Well neither am I," I say almost a whisper

"Great, pick me up at 8, here's my number, " She says handing me a small piece of paper in a cheery tone.

"Um, where do you live?" I ask, wow Castiel way to sound creepy

"Just go to the caravan park, north shore of the beach and I'll find you," She says, I'm glad her eyes have returned to their normal colour.

"Dude football tryouts are on in a couple of minutes we have to hurry!!" Xavier says yanking me away from Athena.

"Um see you tonight!" I shout 

"I'll watch you," She yells smiling and waving as I'm being pulled away.

Great football tryouts are on now and I don't even know how to play and to make matters worse Athena will be watching the whole time.

After me and Xavier sprinting to the oval, we arrive just in time, all the guys are in a horizontal line on the field. Each one of us has a pile of padding and a helmet in front of us, The coach is walking up and down looking at each of us in the eye explaining the rules.

Too bad, I didn't listen to his instructions long enough because he says "Get in positions" whatever that means, Xavier calls me to stand facing him a row of people facing me and another row facing them. 

the whistle blows

"GO!" The coach yells

"Dude, are you going to hit me?" Xavier says through his helmet 

" Hit you?" I ask I didn't think I had to hit anyone! doesn't that cause any pain?

"Yeah, go!" He yells
