(Y/N)

An awkward silence came to be as you were watching Kris, who was watching you while you were watching him take his shirt off. A small chuckle escaped Toriel's lips before she covered her mouth. Kris immediately pulled his shirt down, turning away. You couldn't help but let out a slight snort before clearing your throat.

"Ah uh... D-did I interrupt something?" you asked.

"No... don't worry about it..." Kris mumbled, still looking elsewhere.

"We were just trying out a piece of the disguise, dear" Toriel explained, placing a paw on his shoulder.

"Ah...  about that..." you started.

"Afterall, it's very exciting to have the chance to see where you live" she continued.

"...Oh..." you let out.

But I can't bring them along...

I'll endanger all of us...

It's most definitely a crime...

You wanted to tell them. Tell them that it wasn't a good idea. Protect them.

But...

You were never that strong.

"Well, of course you are! I would have been excited for the opposite!" you said, smiling happily.

"Though, I'm afraid it might be a bit hard to make a proper disguise with what we have right now..." Toriel said, bringing her paw to her cheek.

"Well, maybe I can help then?" you asked, slowly walking over to her. She nodded and showed you what she had so far.

"Let's see..."

- -

"Maybe... if we just placed these on his ears and some of these between here... yes, I think it would look believable," you said as you examined the parts. "But... I'm honestly quite unsure about the rest of you..." you continued, looking over them all again.

"Well... I think it's more important for children to have fun... and I'm sure Asriel would want Kris to be happy..." she said in a low tone.

"Sorry but... what do you mean by that...?" you asked.

"If he wants to... only Kris could go" she replied.

"B-but you wanted to see it too, didn't you?"

"Well, of course! But Kris's happiness is more important to us" she said with a smile.

"That's so sweet..." you said, seeing your own mother in her. "Alright then. Let's see what Kris thinks about it!" you continued.

"What I think about what?" Kris asked from behind you. You flinched before turning to him.

"Ah well... y-your mother said it would be best if... only you came with me... sort of," you said, placing a hand at the back of your neck. He blinked.

"Why..?" he asked.

"Because it would be easier for you to fit in..." you mumbled.

"Why is it so important to fit in?" he asked, giving you (what you thought to be) a suspicious look.

"I just... can't bring anyone along otherwise..." you said as you looked away.

"That still doesn't tell me what I want to know," he said before going down to face you, gently placing a warm hand on your cheek. You were a bit surprised as he turned your face towards his. His eyes were covered, yet you had the feeling he was staring at you.

"Uh... b-because..." you started.

C'mon Y/N, you can't tell him the truth or you'll ruin the fun!

"Because..?" he repeated.

"Y-you'd get so much attention that I wouldn't have time to show you around!" you lied. He was silent and motionless for a bit before removing his hand and standing up.

"If that's how it is..." he said and you mentally let out a sigh of relief, putting your own hand on the spot he had touched.

Warm...

"Mom. Would you help me put this on?" Kris asked Toriel, holding up the fake fins.

"Of course, dear! Come sit here" she said, patting her lap. He slowly sat down, making sure not to move too much as Toriel did her work. Kris wasn't really short, but in comparison to Toriel, he was the size of a child. She was constantly moving her fingers through his hair in order to uncover the spots she wanted.

I...wanna do that...

Your body began to itch a bit before Kris got up again.

"Do you think this will do?" he asked, placing a hand on the back of his neck. You gave him a smile.

"Surely!"

"What about clothing?" he asked. Your face went blank for a moment before you shook it off.

"Believe it or not, but we have clothing made of fabric down there as well. It's just a little bit pricy" you said with a bit of a nervous chuckle. Once again you had the feeling that he was suspicious of you. But he didn't say anything. Simply shrugged.

"Are we ready to go then?" he asked.

"Ah, yes of course!" you said, walking towards the edge with him.

"You two be careful, okay?" Toriel said with a gentle smile, waving.

"Sure! I'll take care of your son! Don't you worry!" you said as you waved back.

"Take care of me..." Kris mumbled. You rolled your eyes and grabbed the back of his shirt. Then you jumped, pulling him along with you before letting the magic escape your body.
