(Y/N)

You continued to lead Kris down towards the bottom, pointing.

"Can you see that light?" you asked.

"Yeah. Is that where you live?" he asked. You nodded.

"Yeah. That glow comes from Gigantea" you replied, swimming more towards the side. What started as a small pinkish light grew bigger and bigger as you descended. A smile formed on your face.

"Holy...what is that?" Kris asked.

"Gigantea, our barrier" you replied as you became close enough to see some finer details, such as Gigantea's tentacles that were tied down to the heaviest of weights. 150. That's how many you'd been taught that there was. All of them were filled with poison deadlier than that of any other sea creature. Only the sea folk could handle it, thanks to their magic barriers. But even they could get into trouble. So you pulled Kris closer to you.

Finally, you reached the outside of your city. You let your feet graze against the rough-textured cliff it rested on. You turned to look at Kris, who was in awe. Seeing the look on his face, you felt a bit proud.

"It's... wow..." was all he got out. You grinned and began to pull on his arm.

"This is nothing!" you said as you pulled him along towards the opening.

"Y/N, what's that glow underneath?" Kris asked, tilting his head slightly as you continued to pull him along.

"Oh, that's the lower part of my city" you answered, stopping for a moment so he could observe it.

"May I see it closer?" he asked, looking towards you with his eyes covered by hair. You chuckled.

"I'll take you there if you want, but first I want to show you the upper part," you said, once again pulling him along. Seriye wasn't at the opening at this time (which was fine by you) so you couldn't get a ride.

You pulled Kris along through a little opening in Gigantea's first layer of tentacles. During the trip to get to the next port, you could feel Kris looking around.

"How do you change color on things?" he asked as you passed a blue and green sign.

"It's sea paint," you said. "It's created by us seafolk, with crushed plants, sand, and just a pinch of magic." you continued.

"Huh..." you continued pulling him along, leaning your head back a bit as what had seemed small grew bigger and bigger, many more times than you and Kris combined. And so you pulled him through the second layer.

What you were met with was something quite beautiful, yet something you had since long gotten used to. But you knew Kris hadn't.
He seemed rather stunned as he saw it, your city.

The streets filled with lively people swimming, buildings of rocks, crystals, and more. All lit up by little orbs as well as the pink from above.

"C'mon! There's a lot more to see than this!" you said, pulling him along once more.

"H-hey slow down a bit! This is interesting to me!" he said but without trying to stop you. The two of you swam through crowds of people who were all either talking, screaming, or laughing.
"Y/N, won't people question this?" Kris asked as he pointed towards the bubble around his head. You shook your head.

"Don't worry about it. It's barely noticeable!" you chirped.

"Huh...magic sure is amazing..." he mumbled.

"Oh, please! There are way cooler things that you can do with it!" you said.

"Oh? Like what?" he asked. You smiled and just pulled him along towards the plaza, in which there was a small, stone stage. An older man stood on it, wearing a cloak of the finest fish scales.

"Let's watch him and you'll see" you whispered to him. He seemed confused but turned his head towards him anyway.

"Ladies and gentlemen! Prepare to be absolutely flabbergasted!" the man yelled as he gestured to something in his hand.

"What is he holding?" Kris whispered.

"He calls them surface pellets. I don't really know what they are, but they're amazing!" you whispered back, giving him a bright smile before placing a finger over your lips. The man held his hand out towards the crowd so they could get a better look at the little thing. It was a small oval thing that looked a little bit like a rock. He then pulled it back, moving his other hand over it in a circular motion whose speed slowly began to accelerate. You could see more and more magic leave his fingertips before the little pellet began to crack. Out of it grew something thin and green. It grew taller and thicker, small spikes growing out of it before the very top of it exploded into a bright-red shape. You and everyone around you applauded. When you looked over at Kris, you noticed that he didn't however. He looked confused. "Is something the matter, Kris?" you asked.

"No... I just... How can you make a rose grow like that..? And underwater none the less..!" he said. You blinked.

"What's a rose...?" you asked.

"It's- You know what? I'll just tell you later" he said, placing a hand on his neck.

"Alright..? We could take it over some food!" you suggested, glancing back to the stage. The old man was giving the strange thing to a small boy that gave it to, what you assumed to be, his mother.

"Mm. What do you even eat here?" he asked as you went ahead.

"A bunch of stuff!"

"Such as..."

"Well... what do you eat?"

"...What?"

"It's not super easy to list off everything you eat..!"

"...I..." he sighed, scratching his head. "Yeah, you're right... Maybe you can just show me instead" he suggested.

"Of course! I'll take you to one of my favorite places that won't absolutely take all of my pumice!" you declared.

"Pumice..?"

"Mmh! Nothing is free in our world, you know." you said as you dug into your pumice bag, showing him a coin. "We use these to pay for things" you continued. Kris took a closer look.

"So it's basically your currency..."

"Currency?"

"Too much to explain...But basically pumice..." he said.

"Mhm? Oh! We're here!" you said as you realized you almost walked past your destination. It was a somewhat small stone building. A wooden sign stood outside, fancily decorated by green sea paint with the name:

~|Seakelp|~

"It's the best of the best if you ask me!" you said as you moved some seaweed to the side to head inside. Kris followed and seemed rather surprised. The inside was covered in strips of wood, some of which had either red or black letters on them. Most of the stone tables were occupied by happy people either eating or chatting. All of it was lit up by small glowing fishes that slowly swam from one place to another. You grabbed the arm of the amazed Kris and pulled him over to the counter.

"Good day, Mrs. Fairystone!" you greeted. The woman behind the counter turned to you with a smile.

"Y/N, my favorite customer! I am so glad you're coming in again" she laughed heartily as she reached over and ruffled your hair. Then she looked over at Kris. "Oh? This one's new, a friend of yours?"

"Of course! I'm just showing him around and I -had- to bring him here" you said.

"Showing him around? Is he from beneath then?" she asked.

"Ah, uh, yeah! Exactly! A-anyways! Could we get a table?" you asked, having totally forgotten about Kris kind of being there illegally.

"There is always a table for you, Y/N. And now there is one right over there" Mrs. Fairystone pointed at a table at the back. You flashed her a smile before quickly dragging Kris with you to it.

"What was all that about?" he asked as you sat down.

"Well...I... I'm just trying to--"

"The truth, Y/N."

"I am telling the-"

"Y/N."

"...Can we...take it later..? Somewhere less... public..?" you begged, looking up at him.

"...fine" he sighed. "We'll take it later"
