Cross screamed as he shot up in his bed, his eyelights shrinking to the size of a pin. He just couldn't get it out of his head.
That smile.
The needle.
The button.
"Cross!" He could hear someone yell. "Cross! Wake up!"
Someone wrapped their arms around him, pulling him closer to them, to a liquid like substance that was cold.
Nightmare? Cross blinked a few times, as the visions faded away and he could see again.
"Dad?" Cross asked, not even seeing the look of shock on Nightmare's face.
"Yeah, Cross. It's me." Nightmare said as Cross wrapped his arms around him. "I've got you. Everything is going to be okay now."
