Day 17, by doodis2014
Cross sighed quietly to himself, burying half of his face into his scarf as he looked around at all the people and monsters, all walking to their destinations.
He could see a bunch of teenagers laughing without a care in the world.
A long time ago, he would've wished to be like them. Just a normal monster, living a normal life, peacefully.
But now? He can't imagine living his life without his mismatched family.
He smiled a little, remembering them.
Suddenly, the earth below and the sky above shook around him. Worried, he teleported to where his family was robbing some of the stores to get supplies for the next month.
Cross heard a deep roar echo through the building to where he was, and with fear in his soul, he ran, looking around for his family.
He knew who that scream had come from, and he had to hurry.
He took a turn to the right of some building, stopping in his tracks as a chill ran down his spine.
Surrounded by his teammates and family, Nightmare stood with tears running down his face. The goop around melted slowly showing the white bones beneath. He was staring at something small in his hands, dust falling from it.
Looking up closely to the object he soon noticed it was the doll Error made for Nightmare. It was made out of pure magic, and it was slowly turning into dust.
His eyelights widened as he realized what was going on. Glowing tears formed in his sockets and dripped down his cheekbones.
The others, too, had realized what had happened, and stood in a state of shock.
Cross was the first to wake up from his shock, and quickly he slashed through the air opening a portal to their home with anger and sadness in his eyelights.
The others soon followed him, going to where Nightmare stood, now fully in his passive form, clutching the dusty doll to his chest where his soul was. He didn't move or show any emotion, the only hint to how he felt being the tears trickling down his face.
Two of the gang made their way to the shocked Nightmare, Killer and Dust putting their hands on his back and gently guiding him to the portal leading back to their home.
They appeared in the living room of their house.
Everyone stood in silence, tears trickling down all of their faces.
Suddenly, Nightmare spoke, breaking the silence.
"Find whoever did this. And bring them to me!" He growled icily, hiding his rage behind a chilly mask.
The others didn't say anything, and left to look for the one who did this, their grief and anger weighing heavily on them.
Cross nodded to Nightmare, even if he couldn't see him, and left, a promise running through his mind- he would find whoever had killed his friend, and then he would let Nightmare have his way with them.
Nightmare, finally alone, began to cry and let loose his grief over the loss of his mate, his soulmate... the only one he'd ever have, as skeleton monsters bonded for life, they could take no other mate.
