○ The perfume reveals your location ○
○ The smell fades off nearing the city's river ○"How could they have possibly tracked me down?" she asked to herself. She wanted to know if she had been too visible in the people's eyes, if people had tracked her down, if she had been too careless after all her success, if she had now been discovered by them.
"Calm down-" Jocelyn tried to calm her but it didn't work at all. "Calm down? How can I possibly calm down when people are hunting me down like a lion chasing a zebra? I'm being known bit by bit and soon enough, they'll be able to tell who I am, the daughter a foster family abandoned because of her looks" she said.
"But if you don't calm down, you would be controlled by your emotions, overwhelmed by it and it will eat you up slowly. You need to calm down and think of a way to track the hunters back to its habitat" she said. J listened to her words and did as she said and then started breathing evenly and slowly as to calm her nerves.
"Okay, so what do you have in mind?" J asked to her friend as she shrugged in response. Silence took over them for a while before J told her friend her idea and she agreed to it, that is, only if she manages to stay safe and she agreed to do as told. Her mission began by midnight, when all the innocent were asleep and all the guilty rises unexpectedly.
She was at the river as usual, trying to relieve her insomnia in some sort of way, that is, what she usually does. Tonight, it was different, she had a purpose going to the river. She wanted to know what kind of people, most likely men would want to kill or use her in any sort of way.
A man stealthily moves towards her from behind, no sound was heard but she knew what was happening behind her and that was why she had already wore her mask. She could sense the man- or person move one step closer and that was all she needed to know before turning back and drugging him just enough to leave him unconscious.
Her plan was to interrogate him back at the abandoned building and then kill him outside it, but she knew better than to just drag him in the place like that. She had to check him first, in case of any trackers or microphones he had as his team knew that she would notice him.
And she was right, she crushed the two trackers attached to his hair and arm, the microphone from his teeth and a camera from his pelvic area. They were all in spots no one would suspect anything from which was why she did it. And after that she dragged him along the streets to the abandoned building she currently lives in.
By dawn he was already awake, she especially made sure to make him awake after a few hours of drugging him unconscious, she didn't want to waste too much time on such problems. "Where am I?" he asked and groaned as soon as he realized that he was tied up to one of the pillars. "Somewhere off grids" J replied all the while sharpening her dagger and cleaning it from the night before she had captured him.
"You..." he trailed off. "I'm sure that you're familiar of me, my mask, my voice, as you were attempting murder as I've realized you had. So tell me, who sent you and why?" she asked. "Why would or should I tell you that?" he chuckled. "Because this dagger will cut across your throat in about five minutes if you don't say a word" she said holding up her dagger.
"I have back up coming for me, they put two trackers on me specifically to get you at your hiding spot" he smirked. "And sadly I've realized the fact that you have trackers, a mic, and a camera on you which was why I crushed them at the river while you were unconscious" she said and the smirk was wiped off his face.
"I'm not an agent for nothing, sweetheart" she said in a sickeningly sweet voice. "So speak up" she continued sternly. "... I work for a man who goes by M, no one except his secretary knows his actual name. He hires people to kill others who bother him or mess with him" he said.
"Then why kill me? I don't recall bothering him in any forms. I only kill who deserves to be killed" she said. "No, it's all different now" he said. "After his wife died because of a murder, he let loose. He became wild and now kills people for the sake of his dear wife. He's a psychopath" he said. It all made sense now, the murders in town weren't that much anymore and it was suspicious but she understood now.
"Why did you plan to kill me?" J asked and he sighed. "He pays quite nicely and I needed the money for my sick parents. Why would I turn down the offer when it's right in front of my eyes? I didn't know that I would be told to kill someone and before I knew it, my desires took control of my hand and I signed the contract before my eyes" he explained.
She was planning on killing him earlier but after seeing him tell the truth, she couldn't bring herself to do so. After all, he was pretty much forced into it all and none of this was actually his problem. She sighed and messed up her jet black hair. She untied him and helped him up and he didn't expect that from an agent who never lets a prey go.
"What's your name?" she asked. "People know me as Evan but, Lin Yanjun is my actual name. Evan is my English one which isn't actually real" he said. "Well then Evan, I might need you to swear under the name of your parents to never speak of this wherever you go, to whoever you meet or whenever" she said. "I swear under the name of my parents that I won't ever tell anyone about this" he said and she nods.
"But first, what's your name? Everyone in town is talking about how your eyes are so attractive which is true but what is your actual name? I heard that only those who are dead know what you're called" he asked. "My name? That's for another time. For now, Agent J, you can call me J" she said shaking his hand.
"It's a pleasure working with you,
Ms. J"
