"No, I don't want to, okay? Just stop asking me the same questions Jane, it's really annoying me" he said and shut her out of their room, well his room for now. She sighed and sat on the sofa, staring into oblivion before she heard him come out of his room.

She thought that he was going to talk to her, but he didn't. Instead, he grabbed his cap and was about to open the door when she stopped him for a moment, looking into his eyes as she spoke.

"Why are you being so mean to me lately? It's like you've never cared about me at all. What happened to you? What happened to us?" she said. She felt like her world crashed down although he simply ignored her. Did she really fall for the wrong person again? She didn't think so, at least not after he risked his life for her own.

He simply pushed her away, shocking her with his actions. "I'm going to my sister's, you can do whatever you want I guess" he said coldly before heading out the house, taking the car and driving off to the mansion.

She felt her heart break with every thought she had in mind. Does he not care about her anymore? Did he fall out of love? Had he gotten tired of her being by his side all day? She didn't know why he behaved like so, why he doesn't care about her anymore, she didn't know anything at all.

She was going to call Yanjun as he was always the one listening to her yapping about him and everything she thought of. But she thought that she might need more of a girl opinion for this matter, so she called the best friend she hasn't seen for a while now, Jocelyn.

"I heard your distress from my house, what happened?" she asked as soon as the agent opened the door. She was about to break down crying but she held back, she wouldn't want the first thing she greets her best friend with was a cry from herself. She was supposed to be a strong independent woman, not so much now.

"Is it about him? Because if it is, I swear I'm about to beat some sense to that guy-" "No, don't please. Just... hear me out?" she asked and the doctor nodded, ears on her as she speaks out her thoughts and everything. "I don't know I just feel like he doesn't care about me anymore. Like, we were all fine last week and he just suddenly... changed"

"It's like he's suddenly a whole other person and I don't know how I'm supposed to feel about that. For God's sake I have a reputation to keep up. I have been the cold agent for years and my walls have been broken down in a matter of- I don't know, a month or two?" she said.

"I just want to know what has made him act like this. If it's me then I'll fix it, anything. I just want to know what has made him act so cold towards me. Not gonna lie, it hurts me to think that he doesn't love me anymore" she said and her friend simply nodded her head, rubbing her back in soothing circles as she listened.

"Look, in my defense I can't help much because in all honesty, Wenjun has never treated me like that. Not to add fuel to the fire, but no matter what situation we're in, he would never act like that towards me. I obviously don't know Adam that much, but I know one thing. He would give up his world to make you happy. I mean, he freaking took a bullet for you, how do you expect him to fall out of love?" Jocelyn said. 

"I know but I confronted it to him the other day and he told me to shut up and let him be. I mean like, what was that supposed to mean? In all honesty, I'm just scared of losing him you know. I've grown so attached to him, I've fallen too deep in love and I can't get up" she said and the doctor sighed. "And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. You've solved love problems basically your entire life, let it do a favor for yo now" she said and the agent nodded, pulling her friend into her embrace.

"I can't do this anymore" he said as he plopped down on the sofa. His sister sighed and sat beside him, placing a hand on his back and keeping it there. "What's the matter now?" she softly asked as he sighed. 

"So, you obviously know about my plan" he started and she nodded as a response. "Well I can't hold on much longer. Whenever I act like this, she always has that worried expression on her face and I could see that she was afraid, worried, confused, I don't know, everything mixed into one" he said.

"And whenever she decided to grab my arm and confront to me about it, she always has those tears threatening to fall from her beautiful eyes and I was somehow able to push her away and go like what I did right before I drove here" he continued. 

"But despite everything, she still cares. I don't eat dinner with her so, she made sure to leave my meal in the fridge and tell me to heat it up when I want to eat it. I basically kicked her out of our bedroom but she still made it her duty to prepare the bed and my clothes, she even prepared my bath!" he said.

"Heck, I don't even talk to her anymore but she made sure to text me things I should remember and I left her on read. She even says her 'I love you's under her breath, thinking that I didn't hear it but I did and it just broke me even more hearing her heartbroken voice" he said, his voice breaking just as he finishes the sentence.

"I feel like I want to just apologize to her for everything I did but I can't for the sake of the plan and I just- I don't think I can keep up the act much longer" he said and she smiled. "I'm glad you feel that way" she said which made him look at her for the first time that day.

"What?" he asked. "If you feel so, you truly love her. When you can't stand her sorrow and pain, you feel your whole world crashing down as you see her tears, you deeply love her.  know you're feeling broken right now but if you want her to feel the effect of what you're going to do in a few days, hang in there" she said.

The entire time he was driving back, he thought back to his sister's words. He really does have to hang in there, just for the sake of the plan. He sighed and ruffled his hair as he steps outside the car and to teh doorstep.

"Bear with me just a little more, baby, I'll promise you the world then"
