A scream pierces through the long night

"Hey" she said in a flirty tone. The man seemed to be in a daze, partially confused and partially attracted. Her sharp eyes were drawing him closer, paralyzing him bit by bit. He was slowly drinking in her mysterious yet elegant appearance, captivating him. Her gaze dropped to the drink, tracing the rim of the glass with her forefinger.

"Follow me" she said abruptly, hypnotizing him as she strutted to the exit of the bar. He quickly finished his drink and followed her. He was barely tipsy, but the gaze she was giving him bore into his soul, taking out the last drops of him being sober and letting her take full control on him. She led him towards this narrow alleyway and stopped him right at the end of it.

He broke out of his momentary trance as he saw the young woman. "Where have you brought me? Why am I here?" he asked. He walked closer to her but was paralyzed after a few moments of his walking to the other end of the alleyway where she was.

He didn't know why or how he stopped but he couldn't move at all. He looked up at her, her black mask shining through the night sky. "Who are you?" he asked and she showed him a sly smirk and chuckled. "I go by Agent J" she said but his eyes rolled back as he fell unconscious to the concrete floor.

She didn't feel any of that pang of guilt that people usually feel when killing, taking away a life from the world. She just simply walked out of the alleyway and to a certain abandoned building in the outskirts of the kingdom of love, the Chun Kingdom.

She tried to get some sleep but she couldn't, her insomnia getting the best of her mind and her eyes. So instead, she took her leather jacket and walked to the river to watch the stars and the moonlight. It has always calmed her down, being an orphan, she has always remembered how her mom used to tell her about the stars and that thought had always lulled her to sleep.

She stared at the water flowing smoothly, the surface reflecting the moonlight as she sat down on the ground, letting her feet dip into the cold water, feeling it flow against her skin. She looked up to the stars and sighed. She has always loved the stars, just as her mother had.

"Your insomnia again?" a woman asked as she sat down beside her. "As always, you always know where to find me it's getting creepy sometimes" J chuckled. "You always go to the same place every night, it's kind of hard to not know where you are at this ungodly hour" she said.

She chuckled, looking at the sky once more. "You know my mother used to love this place, this time of the day, this situation, just as I do" she said. "Oh I know very well about that. You've told me at least a thousand times already. Being the only person you've been in contact with for the past few years sure is a lot for me to know" Jocelyn said.

"You know I can't socialize much after what happened to... her, you know who" she said. "Yes I do know that and I have to admit that you are quite a strong one knowing that you have to live on your own at the age of barely 14 without anyone's help and having to endure all the emotions" she said.

"I wouldn't call myself strong. If it weren't for my brother helping me out I would still be in the streets begging for food while being depressed" she said. She was adopted into a rich family a few months after she was sent to the streets. The family wanted a daughter but never had one, instead, they have two sons and took her in.

But her hair was jet black when theirs was dark brown. Her eyes were sapphire blue when theirs were hazel brown. They wanted her to be one of them so they offered hair dying and wearing contact lenses but she refused, saying that it was all too uncomfortable for her to have. Her brothers were fine but her parents weren't and she was left once more.

She wouldn't be able to survive if her brothers hadn't given her money for a place for her to stay and enough allowance for her to eat everyday. Although they couldn't do much as their parents monitor their bank accounts and their wallets, an abandoned building was enough for her to stay in, alone.

Along the way she met Jocelyn, a scholar in the high school she attended. She was the only person who wanted to become friends with her for being herself, not because of her wealth or attractive looks. She had another friend, Michelle but she got into an accident and tragically died. She would never be able to see people the same way again.

The accident wasn't actually an accident, Michelle was bullied and the time J stepped up for her they couldn't do anything. So the only way was to obliterate the girl when she did nothing wrong and that was exactly what they did. That was why she couldn't bring herself to socialize with more people.

"So what did you do to the man?" Jocelyn asked. "Drugged him by the glass, easy task to do, give the drug dealer a taste of his own medicine" she said shrugging. They suddenly heard footsteps behind them. J immediately took out her dagger she carries everywhere, just for the safety of herself.

A man came out from one of the bushes and tried to shoot her but she was faster. She threw the dagger to the man and it hit his eye as he screamed in pain and agony. She puts on her mask and walked towards the injured man. She inspected his wound before pulling out her weapon causing the man to let out another pained cry.

He covered his eye with his hand as his good eye traveled to her eyes, not being able to see her face fully due to the mask. "Who are you?" he asked. Everyone was the same, asking for who she is, every man and woman she killed ask her that question.

"Who am I? People call me Agent J, but in order for people to call me that, they must be dead first" she said and stabbed the man on the chest as blood trickled down his damp shirt. She wanted no one to interrupt her already steady life, she wanted nothing to do with ignorant obnoxious people. She was just Agent J, and nothing will change that.
