Sebastian stared at the manila envelope that laid on his office table.
Something was off and he sensed it.
The men Sebastian kept close to him were those he trusted with his life at times.
The value that they held could not be bought for he could never pay a price for loyalty that had to be earned.
The innocent envelope that laid there had the ability to make this trust he had waver.
"Seb?" Arielle called out, walking into his office.
She was the only person to ever know the password to his office.
He looked up and Arielle stood there taking in what she saw before her.
Sebastian hadn't ever looked so lost before, his eyes were empty and full of doubt.
"Are you okay?" She asked, taking slow steps to him who stayed still looking at her.
He picked up the folder and tiredly tried to speak, "Arielle, this envelope—this enve..." Sebastian didn't make it far before he threw the folder down on the floor and held his head in the hands that rested on his knees.
Despite putting up his strong façade, Arielle knew that Sebastian could only take so much.
The sleepless nights he spent in their bed wasn't just the insomnia but the pressure of running such an empire.
Arielle bent down on her knees, picking up the envelope and putting it back on the table. She removed his tough hands from his face and pulled his chin up to meet his eyes.
Sebastian searched for answers in her eyes before getting on his knees as well and pulling her into his embrace.
He listened to her heartbeat before he spoke after what seemed like forever, "I—I don't know who to trust anymore."
"You can trust me." Arielle spoke softly, "You have me."
Arielle was the only pillar he could rest his back on.
She never complained when he needed her.
She always knew the right words.
She was there.
"I don't deserve you though." He breathed, "I can't even protect you well no matter how hard I try and I can't give you the life you want. You stay here in this empty prison for me and I know how hard it is for you. I know it."
Arielle pulled back and held his face before nodding, "I do want that, I want that soo bad. But I need you more than all that. Love is not always easy my love. The life I need is with you and with us to both be happy. What I want and need are two different things. If this is an empty prison, you are still my light at this end of the tunnel and no matter what I am still here at the end of the day. For you to have a shoulder to cry on and a body to rest with. I want to be your comfort, your trust, and your home. Just like you are to me."
Sebastian grabbed both of her hands before resting his head on her shoulders.
Arielle sat with her back straight with her hands in his as he let out his silent sobs.
It wasn't that his crying made him weak.
It made him so strong.
She knew that he could keep it bottled up for so long.
"Let it all out my love, I will be here for you forever." She silently comforted, "Right by your side."

Arielle found her peace and she studied Sebastian's features.
"You must've been so tired holding it in, haven't you?" She muttered.
Sebastian had his head resting on Arielle's lap as he slept in god knows how long.
She managed to barely cover him with a blanket before frowning at how uncomfortable he must be sleeping in a dress shirt and pants.
Her thoughts subsided when she felt Seb search for her hand before grabbing it in his.
"I love you." He mumbled, not opening his eyes.
"I love you too." She reassured him before running her hand through his hair.

Sebastian smiled brokenly as he sat up taking in Arielle's features that shone through the moonlight.
The clock on the wall read 2:47 AM but time was never a big deal to Sebastian.
He picked her up in his arms and chuckled at her appearance which consisted more of nothing but a messy bun, his over-sized white shirt, and a pair of gray sweats.
Slowly, he made his way up a flight of stairs and quietly pressed his fingerprint to unlock the bedroom door without waking up Ari.
After putting her down in bed and tucking her in just like how she like it, he quietly snuck back out and up two more flights to his office.
His curiosity was eating him alive as he carefully picked up the envelope.
Sebastian's heart sunk as he refused to believe the proof in front of his eyes.
It had to be tampered.
It didn't make sense.
His hands quickly flipped through the photographs of Jaxon meeting up with Jarok and handing him money before showing a blurry picture on his phone of what seemed like Arielle.
How could he trust Jaxon with every fiber in his body screaming not to as he stared at the photographs and receipts from a burner phone?
Sebastian held his phone before quickly pressing Jaxon's contact.
"Hello?" A tired Jaxon spoke, sleep reeking in his deep voice.
"Hello?" Jaxon asked again before groaning, "Do you know what time it is? Bruh can you start calling at more reasonable hours if your not gonna tell me ahead of ti—"
"We need to meet up right now." Sebastian ordered, his mind racing.
"Can it not wait until tomorrow? I'm kind of in the middle of sleeping and it was a good dream too!" Jaxon joked.
"Jaxon..." Sebastian grumbled.
"Okay! Okay! I'm up!" At that, Sebastian hung up and let out a breath.
Sebastian let out a breath before grabbing his jacket and heading out with the envelope in his hands.
Innocent until proven guilty.
