"You aren't mad at me aren't you?" Arielle asked, her smile faltering.

She was impressed at what she did, her quick-thinking skills surprised her.

Sebastian on the other hand, couldn't help but be mad. At times when he took time to act, Arielle did it on impulse. Not thinking of consequences that would occur and only focusing on the situation at hand.

Regardless, he didn't respond and only continued driving. He let the speed quicken, trying his best to ignore her.

"Seb!" She yelled out, but got nothing in response.

"You can't be mad at me. I totally got us out of the situation. If anything, you should be happy!" Arielle sighed, she was tired of the silence that surrounded them.

"Be happy?" He seethed, his voice growing deeper.

"Happy about what? Happy that you almost got yourself killed? Oh yea, that is a great reason to be happy isn't it." Sarcasm lacing his voice.

"But I didn't get myself—" Arielle started before being interrupted.

"You're lucky. Background checks said he was armed with 32 men around the building, half of which who got a good look at you when we passed the second to last floor of that building. Half the staff was rigged up as well. We left before I could've gotten poisoned." Sebastian told her, watching her face sink.

The thought of their desserts being poisoned made Arielle's heart drop. For a moment, she got a glimpse of what life would be like if she lost Sebastian. The thought of that was a nightmare waiting to happen.

Arielle knew that Sebastian knew himself that it was very possible that one day, he wouldn't be here anymore. He made her promise when they first met that she wouldn't be hurt and cry—he didn't like her tears.

But the fact that he reassured her from time to time that he would be 'safe' kept her nerves from overthinking the situation.

But at the news that she could've nearly lost him today, her anxiety got the best of her.

"The situation wasn't impressive because we escaped, but was lucky because you and I got out of there alive." Sebastian grumbled, "What if I hadn't got to our men to surround that door? What if instead of letting you turn, the men turned around and took you away through another entrance and shot you afterwards?"

Arielle stayed quiet, trying to hold back the tears brimming her eyes.

Sebastian rested his elbow on the side of the door, pinching the bridge of his nose.

There was so much that could've gone wrong then, didn't she understand?

The rest of the ride home was in an uncomfortable silence, the two both not making an effort to fix the disagreement.

As Sebastian pulled up the the first gate of the house, he unlocked the door and allowed Arielle to get our first.

He planned to drive over to the warehouse and talk to Jaxon about the issue at hand—both of the situation tonight and Arielle's current state of risk.

Arielle got out, hesitating to kiss Sebastian and saying goodbye. Much to Sebastian's dislike, she opted out on doing either.

He swiftly pulled a quick u-turn and headed out to the main road again. The drive to the warehouse would be short, 10 minutes at max.

What he didn't expect though, was a call from Arielle.

"Sebastian—" Her voice cracked out, panting and out of breath.

"What?" He asked, mildly frustrated and worried that she couldn't just leave him alone before he could figure out the situation.

"They surrounded our house. There are men here." Arielle groaned, her voice shaking.

Without thinking, Sebastian made a sharp turn. He cursed himself for letting Arielle out of his sight as soon as she exited the car, not bothering to check if she was safe or not.

"Find somewhere to hide I'll be there in 5." Sebastian ordered, his heart racing.

"Hurry." Arielle whimpered and with that, he put Arielle on hold as he made a call to Jaxon.

"Boss, I thought you were coming ov—" Jaxon started.

"Arielle and the house have been attacked, prepare for it to be on lockdown and get at least 60 men there on-site." Sebastian yelled, his voice quickening.

"Hurry to Arielle. I'll handle the men." Jaxon reassured before Sebastian hung up and switched back to Arielle's muffled breathing.

"Are you okay?" Sebastian asked, worry plaguing his mind.

"A couple scratches, two men attacked me before I threw a couple punches and ran off. Wait, someone's coming." She told him, the other line becoming quiet.

The thought of men laying their hands on Arielle made Sebastian's blood boil enough to kill.

There are few times men got away with speaking of Arielle herself but laying hand on her was signing your death certificate blatantly, out in the open.

As thankful as Sebastian was for teaching Arielle some combat moves, it kicked in that she was finally a target for the men on his dark side.

He couldn't help but pull into the unlocked residence and cock his gun before holding the grip firmly, they have their eyes on Arielle.

It was just a game of chance now— who gets killed first.

New chapter!

I finished my homework so early today! No all nighters!

It's been raining all day so I've had a couple of chances to just sit and write for a while and it's been great.

My new cheer uniform recently came in and I'm not sure on whether to go to a dance workshop this weekend.

I haven't danced professionally in a workshop for 2 years now since my ankle injury so I'm kinda debating on it idk.

How's life for you guys? Did finals pass or are they coming up? Any stresses?

How was the chapter?

Hope y'all liked it and if you did, please follow, vote, comment, and share!
