Sadie:
I walked into the hotel quickly, a couple with cameras out tried to snap my picture but I covered my face just in time. My mom ushered me through the front doors and out of sight. It was everyone's first day back on set and I was feeling both nervous and excited. I hadn't seen everyone in nearly a year and this was our final season. This was the last time we would be doing a table read. The last time starting filming. Yup... I was nervous.
I tried to keep up with the boys over social media and I had met up with Millie a few times, over the years the cast had really become my best friends. I had missed them all so much. But walking into the lounge and seeing them all again racked my nerves, so much could have happened and what if we just didn't click with each other anymore.
My heart was thundering as I greeted everyone. Millie ran up and threw her arms around me, nearly strangled me but I hugged her back. Once she finally released me Noah pounced as well and pulled Millie back in for a group hug. Caleb caught my eye from across the room and waved with a smile. I could feel my cheeks getting warm as I waved back. A few years back I had been obsessed with Caleb but i'd got over it a long time ago, plus he had a girlfriend now and she was lovely. But I never really got over being nervous around him. I scanned the room, Natalia and Charlie were talking with the duffer brothers, the screenwriters. Joe was showing Maya something as I went up to say hi.
"Sadie, Hi!" Maya pulled me in for a bear hug while Joe gave me an exaggerated high five. I laughed and looked around the room again. Gaten wasn't back this season and the thought sunk something deep in my stomach. 'Dustin' Gaten's character had been killed off at the end of the last season and I could already feel his absence and I hadn't even been here 15 minutes. There was still someone missing though...
Just as I was thinking about who was missing, Finn burst through the doors. His hair was a little bit longer and his jaw line more defined. In the last year he had really changed. His curls nearly touched his leather jacket and he had impossible gotten taller, not only that but he had grown into his height and didn't look so gawky anymore but cool and composed. I could finally see what Millie had been raving about all these years. Finn Wolfhard took my breath away.
Millie rushed up and hugged him nearly as tightly as she had for me. He spun her around and her laugh could be heard echoing through the room. Maybe this was the year she would finally admit her crush on the raven haired boy. Caleb came up and patted him on the back. Finn smiled wide and goofy as he greeted everyone and suddenly he was still the same scrawny boy who I had to calm down after an anxiety attack on our first week of shooting season 2.
He caught my eye and his smile only grew. I walked over and he hugged me tightly. "I missed you Annie," he said. I laughed at the old nickname, "I missed you too Finnie," he let me go and strode confidently over to say hello to the Duffer brothers, I couldn't help but watch him go, he seemed so confident and collected. Maybe a lot had changed in the past year.
