Break the rules /FADIE / Finn and Sadie fanfic

Chapter 6

Sadie:

The ice cream store was small and quaint, my mom agreed to pick us from here in an hour and the adults left to do whatever they do when we aren't around.  It was more like a diner but I couldn't see anything other than ice cream and milkshakes on the menus. Anyway I suppose it doesn't matter.  We lined up waiting to be served chatting happily away about what the photo shoot means about the new season.  

"So it looks like Lucas and Eleven are teaming up, that's such a power duo." Caleb punched the air in excitement. "Imagine El picking you up with her powers and you'd be a human cannon-ball" Finn seemed just as excited and started babbling about the new special effects.  The sleep-deprived worker in the back must have heard our excitement because soon enough she slumped through the doors and put on a fake smile before turning to serve us.  

I could see her eyes widen in amazement and she suddenly looked wide awake, "You're- you're um um hi sorry what would you like." I could never get used to this, I immediately wanted hide behind Noah and not be seen.  But as people started ordering different flavors I knew I had to speak up. Come on Sadie. I was the last one left to order and I froze, my body just stopped working and I was stuck. Finn put a hand on my shoulder and said to the girl working, "She'll have a strawberry double scoop." and with a sweet smile to her he ushered me to the booth. 

"Uh sorry I froze back there, how did you know what I wanted?" Finn laughed, "I just guessed, it's your favorite flavor right?" I nodded dramatically and slid in beside Noah as Finn slid in the other side.  "Wait Sadie can you even eat ice cream, I thought you were vegan." Noah said looking genuinely confused and concerned, "Noah, I'm vegetarian." I deadpanned.  "Isn't that the same thing?" the rest of the table laughed at Noah. I can't believe him sometimes.

The girl came with a mountain of ice cream stacked in her arms and started handing them out while trying not to drop any.  when she was done she blushed and turned to Finn, "I'm sorry but do you think I could get a photo with you, I'm a ...big fan."  Finn said yes of course and once the photo was snapped on her phone she ran off squealing to show her co-workers.  "I think someone has a crush," Caleb said while jabbing Finn in the ribs.  Finn laughed but Caleb insisted, "Come on Finn she was cute why don't you go see if you can tap that." Millie gasped, "Caleb." she tried to reach across the table to hit him while he was wheezing with laughter.  "Millie, Millie it was a joke, stop!" 

I just sat back and dug into my ice cream watching the scene unfold.  Finn barely ducking out of the way of a stay smack from Millie. Noah cheering her on and Caleb scrambling frantically trying to climb over the back of the bench.  Finally the chaos calmed down and walked out after leaving a heavy tip for all the trouble. Millie grabbed my arm and pulled me closer to her, she pressed her mouth nearly into my ear. "Finn didn't seem interested in that girl, did you see?" I nodded but I didn't really know what she meant. "He definitely already likes someone." She whispered excitedly. I rolled my eyes, "Or he's a decent person and doesn't need to ask out everyone he meets." Millie huffed at me, and let go of my arm. "I'm gonna find out who it is." She stalked off towards the group again and I trailed after her like always. I knew she was hoping Finn liked her, but honestly I did not think not talking to that girl meant anything.  This obsession really wasn't healthy but who was I to judge her.  Let her go interrogate Finn for a while it isn't hurting anyone, I just wish she'd get over her silly crush already. 

Now I was in a bad mood, my conversation with Millie had made me more angry than I wanted to admit.  She makes me mad sometimes like I know I can't say anything to her about it or tell her to get over it.  In fact in our friendship I can't do a lot of things like I know I can't own the same shirt as her or...or  like the same boy as her.  Not that I would. Imagine liking Finn like that. Imagine wanting to date The Finn Wolfhard. The thought makes me snicker to myself it would be ridiculous. With his goofy smile, and his curly hair and his kind eyes. I mean yes he was attractive, hot even but nope it would just be so weird... right? I shook my head I needed to stop thinking about this, I wasn't even mad at Millie anymore, just confused. 

I looked over at Finn and suddenly it made sense, butterflies started fluttering in my stomach and it made me sick. Finn was like my best friend I couldn't like him like that. I swallowed hard and caught up to the others trying my best to push whatever feelings were in my stomach out of my body.

Hey everyone I'm trying to update a little more often 

I know I'm not the best writer but I really like this fic so far and I've got a lot of plans 

especially to introduce some IT kids and bring Gaten back for a bit!
it's gonna be fun so stick anround
