Sadie:
The boys showed up just as it started to get dark. I hadn't seen them all day and was a little disappointed we didn't all stick together. Finn looked happier as we all headed over to the stage that was becoming more crowded by teenagers by the minute. Luckily in the dark and since the park had gotten so crowded nobody seemed to notice us, or if they did they didn't seem to care. The stage was lit up and the crowd patiently waited for someone to appear. I didn't even know who was playing but it didn't matter, the excitement was infectious and a buzz was starting to run through my veins. Millie grabbed my arm and squeezed it with an excited squeal. I had to try pry her hands off before they cut off circulation and luckily she found a new interest in prattling on about how pretty the light looked into Noah's ear.
Sofia quickly took Millie's place by my side and offered me some cotton candy. I gladly took it before she also moved off to walk by Wyatt. I fell a little behind the others, following them instead of being part of the group. Sometimes I just needed some space to gather my thoughts.
My thoughts were interrupted before long by a tall, dark-haired boy hanging back to walk by my side.I threw him a sheepish smile but we ultimately walked in silence. Things had been weird with me a Finn the whole day and I wanted more than anything to just forget about this whole thing and go back to how it was last night. A cold hand was gently placed on my arm, stopping me altogether. Finn lead me away from the crowd of people and I could see our friends walking off without us. Part of me knew that we would lose them if we didn't keep up now but the small part of me who couldn't say no to Finn kept me still.
"I'm sorry about leaving you earlier," He mumbled as we toward the games stand, "Mind if I make it up to you now." He said with a bashful smile and nodding his head to where the stands were lined up like a carnival. "How unbelievably cheesy of you," I said with a small giggle and taking his hand in mine. I had missed this side of Finn, the side I had been friends with forever. Somewhere along the way I had forgotten that this was the same boy I had known for years.
Finn had terrible hand-eye coordination and I ended up winning a prize for him, but he got me back when I couldn't reach it from the stand. "Here you go, you shorty," He said while easily plucking the small bear off the wall and handing it to me. "No here, I won it for you silly, I know you can't get one yourself," I said handing it back to him. He blushed but took if and snuggled his face into it.
"I honestly wanted to spend the whole day doing all this with you," I say after we had visited nearly every stand. He rubbed his neck anxiously, "I'm sorry I just got caught up with being with my friends." I nodded like I understood even though deep down I was disappointed that I didn't exactly count as his 'friend' anymore.
"It's also a little hard to be around you now," he said softly with an awkward laugh, "I don't really know where we stand anymore."
At least he was being honest with me now but I couldn't give him the answer he wanted, I didn't know what this was either. "Well what do you want?" I asked earnestly, if we were going to have this conversation we were going to have it right.
"I-I-I don't really know, I really like you Sadie but it's complicated," He said and once again I could see how anxious he was about talking like this. Finn had never been the best at talking about his feelings and I needed to choose my words carefully otherwise he's close up again."I want to be with you," I said honestly and I didn't miss the way his face lit up as I said those words. "But we can't the Duffer's and the producers-"
"Finn I really don't care about their stupid rules okay," I interrupted
"But Sadie, this could put our careers on the line it's not worth-"
"They won't find out," I interrupted again.
Finn nodded slowly, leaned in and kissed my cheek, "we're going to have to be careful then, I'm not going to let anything happen to you okay." I nodded and moved my head so our lips were nearly touching. He leaned forward and our lips touched gently. suddenly I felt my stomach drop and kissing Finn felt as natural as breathing. I realized how much I actually did want this, how much I wanted him.My lips parted after a moment to deepen the kiss and his arms held my waist close to him. All I could do was pray nobody noticed who we were. Suddenly Finn pulled away with a fright as someone called his name. Jack came running up to us.
"Finn, there you are man, I've been looking for you everywhere." he said out of breath.
"Oh sorry, I was busy." Finn said sliding an arm around my shoulders and I felt as if I was on cloud-9. I was his and he was subtly letting me know.
"Uh..." Jack looked as if he had only just noticed that I was there, "Okay well come we need to go, you're missing the show," Jack's gaze had turned steely and he pulled Finn by the arm that wasn't currently around me. Jack yanked Finn hard in the direction of the stage and Finn nearly lost his balance, he let go of me in order to stable himself."Dude, chill, what are you doing," Finn yelled over the growing noise from the stage. Jack ignored him and kept pulling. Obviously not concerned whether I came or not I decided to walk there slowly, if Jack was in a bad mood I wasn't going to mess with him.
