"Surprise!" Bree squealed in adrenalized vigor while running from behind to hug me.

I smiled in authentic gratefulness at the astounding event she held for me when I opened the threshold. Outside was in a deviant chilly weather that felt nice to be in even though a large firewood burned in the middle of the rooftop.

"How do you like it?" She asked in animation as my eyes sauntered around the spot to try and notice who was here. Loud club music played from speakers, letting the mood be more provocative than an 'innocent' little party.

Eric, Naveen, and Alex discussed out something at an imperious appearance with Irene and another man by the blaze. Calum stood with Emery and the boy with purple hair from days back with red cups in hand. Caroline and Luke stood on the far away edge, almost in the dark. She seemed to be speaking to him although her eyes meandered around the rooftop while his piercing blue eyes burned holes into my skull.

It fascinated me the way his agog gaping captivated my gaze and held it before turning into hate which made me break the trance.

"I love it, it's amazing!" I praised to Bree with a smile on my lips. It really was beautiful, beside the lanterns that burned, the new moon sky held incalculable stars that were visible from the under the atmosphere. Yet all I wanted was to disappear in a dark corner of my so called 'room' and never return enough to be forgotten. The rooftop was a sublime gesture from Bree who must've worked hard for it, but this wasn't feeling right for me. I suddenly didn't want to be here.

I had lived my entire life in the shadow of a broken girl that was too damn complicated for anyone to try and figure out. So why is it that now I couldn't even live my pointless life without blood-sucking monsters keeping under surveillance my every move?

"I'm so glad you liked it! I didn't know it was your birthday, but Luke told us." She informed which had me in a muddled mess within seconds.

"Luke?" I asked, nonplussed engraved all over my features, and suddenly forgot why I didn't want to attend my own feast in the first place.

"Yes." Her corroboration only bewildered me furthermore.

I knew Luke had knowledge of most details in my life but it doesn't fit my mind how he would even care to tell others. My birthday was never an essential phase of the year for me and honestly, this is as big as it has gotten since Anna.

Bree began blathering on how she had planned the mini-party and who helped her. I disregarded her prattle as my eyes lead to Luke that talked enthusiastically with the man next to Irene. Luke laughed and the carefree boy that had accompanied me last night in the kitchen returned. His smile made the fire rise from in me as his crystal clear blue eyes mirrored his ecstasy. His fingers grazed over his chin while his tongue slid to the black lip ring on his mouth.

"Vampire to Blaire, vampire to Blaire." My hearing sense returned while a pale white hand waved at my face. Bree seemed entertained to my judgment as her eyes held a glint of humor and her lips exhibited a grin.

"You were saying?" I refused to take in account all of her gestures and took the blue plastic cup from her hand, not even asking if it was for me. Taking a sip, I was relieved to find it was just water.
