Yuto sat in the gym, his friends crowded around him. He didn't really like crowded places. But of course, the school didn't know that. The assembly was to talk about the football team, and how many games they've won this season. Yuto rolled his eyes. The school would never have an assembly like this for their baseball team. Hyunggu leaned on him, laughing at Hwitaek.
He glanced down at him, before looking back up. He saw Wooseok sitting on the other side, Hongseok beside him. Last night Yuto had gotten pretty close with him and his friends, thinking he'd rather sit with them than with his own. Wooseok glanced up also, catching eyes with him. Yuto blushed, looking away.
He had walked him home also, helping him sneak back into his house. They had stared at each other for longer than usual, but the sound of knocking on Yuto's door made them seperate. He went to sleep with the memory of laughing and talking at his house. Wooseok's mother took a liking to him, spending her night asking questions about himself.
He felt Wooseok's gaze on him still, looking back up. He raised his brow, Wooseok smiling at him. Hyunggu must've caught on, because he turned Yuto to face him. "Yutoda." he said. Yuto sighed, looking at him.
"What?" Hyunggu shrugged, laying on him. Yuto smiled, putting his arm around the boy. He looked back at him, to see a different expression on his face. Yuto couldn't pin what it was, but it looked sort of like annoyance. He put the thought of jealousy away, knowing that wasn't it.
The voice of the boy explaining everything was downed out, until the word "baseball players" and "game" broke him out of his small trance. He looked around, to see some people raising their hands. Hyunggu grabbed his arm, trying to stand him up. "What-"
"They need us." He said. Yuto walked out, feeling like he was back at a game. There were a lot of girls raising their hands, some guys too. He looked around, to see Wooseok's hand in the air. He blushed, furrowing his brows.
"Well, it seems there's certain people who wish to play." Mr. Lee said. He looked back at the boys: Yuto, Hyunggu, Hwitaek, Jin Ho and Changgu, then to Wooseok's side. "Wooseok, Yanan, Hyojong, Hongseok and Shinwon. Please come down." everyone whispered, not knowing who they were. When they all stood up, everyone gasped.
"Since when do the 'gangsters' want to play a highschool game?" he could hear one girl say loudly. He looked around, the small group walking towards them. Mr. Lee smiled widely, thinking of who would go with who. Yuto wanted to laugh at the bright red blush on Hwitaek's face. He wondered what had him so excited.
"Hongseok, with Jinho." the small boy stared at the taller one in front of him, eyeing him closely. He caught the small smile that Hongseok had. "Shinwon, with Hyunggu." Hyunggu groaned, glaring up at the taller. "Hyojong, with Hwitaek." it finally clicked in Yuto's head. The boy tried to hide his smile, while the smaller couldn't contain his.
Yuto's heart began to race slightly, wondering who he'd get paired with. He hoped it'd be Changgu. "Yanan, with Changgu." Yuto sighed. He was stuck with Wooseok for sure. He saw Changgu jump slightly, walking over to the tall blonde boy. Yuto smiled, seeing the way they were all paired up. Some of them were blushing, while some were smiling.
"Wooseok," Both boys looked at him. "With Yuto." he said, a smile on his face. He sighed, looking down. Everyone yelled at them, happy with the pairs. Wooseok walked to him, a smirk clear on his face. Yuto rolled his eyes, stepping back from him.
"Looks like it's you and me, Yuto." He snorted, shaking his head.
"No, it's me and you." he corrected. Wooseok laughed, his smile surprising everyone. Hyunggu watched the two, wanting to seperate them. Yuto walked with the group, Wooseok following close behind. "Let's just hope it's nothing bad." he said quietly.
But luck was never on his side. They ended up having to do a balloon popping game, meaning they would have to be close together. He tried to calm his heart, thinking of all the ways this could all go wrong. Wooseok seemed to love the game, stepping closer to him. Yuto pushed him away slightly, a small smile on his face still. "Okay, let's start." the boy said.
They all lined up, a bag of balloons in front of them. Yuto looked up slightly, to see Wooseok staring back at him. "Stop staring. It's weird." Wooseok looked away, at the row of people. Yuto's heart was starting to beat more, making him mentally slap himself. What was with him and his fast beating heart lately?
"You ready?" Mr. Lee asked. Yuto and Wooseok awkwardly glanced to each other, not knowing how they were going to do this. Wooseok walked closer, so there was barely a inch of room between them. Yuto sighed, looking away.
"Sorry if I hurt you." Wooseok said lowly. It made shivers run down his back. He glanced back up at him, trying to keep a straight face.
"If you do, I'm kicking your ass." He snorted, not taking his eyes off him. Mr. Lee looked at all of them, before blowing his whistle. It felt like everything went to quick for Yuto to handle. Wooseok had grabbed a balloon, and grabbing him by the waist. He pulled him against him, the balloon popping between their chests. Yuto screamed, hating the loud noise.
Wooseok grabbed another, pulling Yuto closer. At this point, Yuto gave up trying to keep his composure. He held onto Wooseok's shoulder, burying his face deeper everytime the balloon popped. Halfway through, he started to laugh, screaming every time it popped. The crowd all laughed, but it was drowned out to Yuto. all he could think about was how close Wooseok was, and the way he held his waist.
They finished all the balloons first, the two still close. They stared at each other, Yuto getting lost in the tallers eyes. He knew it sounded stupid, but he couldn't help it. A loud cheer broke them away, making his face turn a bright red. Wooseok cleared his throat, scratching the back of his neck. Yanan and Changgu had finished next, along with Jinho and Hongseok. He saw the bright red that stained Jinho's face.
"Did I hurt you?" Wooseok said, making sure to keep his voice low. Yuto snorted, pushing his shoulder.
"Don't." he said, making Wooseok laugh. Yuto watched him again, until Mr. Lee walked up to them. He smiled at the two, holding his mic up.
"Wooseok and Yuto won this game." the whole room burst into cheers. Some girls were whispering about how they wished they could be as close to him as Wooseok was. He ignored it, feeling two arms wrap around him. He screamed, looking down to see Wooseok smiling at him.
He spun him around, making Yuto cling to him. He laughed, laying his head in his neck. When he put him back down, he didn't have time to say anything. Hyunggu grabbed his arm, pulling him back to the bleachers. He groaned, watching as Wooseok turned to his friends. "Hyunggu, what the hell?" The smaller boy shook his head.
"Don't 'what the hell' me." Yuto furrowed his brows. "I don't want you around him anymore." he laughed, staring down at him.
"What, are you my mom now?" Hyunggu glared up at him.
"Might as well be." Yuto closed his mouth, not having anything to say. Hyunggu sat him down, making sure to occupy his sight with himself. Yuto wanted nothing more than to walk out of there, but he knew he couldn't. Once they let everyone go, he ran out of there, and straight to practice. Hyunggu sighed, watching as his tall friend walked away.
