They all stood inside the gym, equipment thrown everywhere. It looked like no one had used it in years. "Do people not take pe anymore?" Jackson said from the side.
"They all use the smaller newer gym. They only use this one for assemblies and dances." Hwitaek answered.
"Isn't there an assembly coming up?" Yuto nodded.
"That's why we have to clean it." they all sighed. "Alright, who's picking the music?" Yuto walked forward, looking at everyone. Hyunggu raised his hand, everyone agreeing. He handed him the small speaker, before they all got busy.
"Boys!" they heard Coach Kim's voice. They all turned, staring at him wide eyed. "Yuto, come here for a second." He walked over, wondering what was going on. Hyunggu, Jinho, and Hwitaek all ran to him, making the coach laugh.
"I said Yuto, not the whole posse." They all laughed, bumping each other.
"Well, you call one, you call all." Hwitaek said. The coach shook his head, laughing.
"Okay, well Yuto," he glanced at everyone else. "Mr. Lee sent another student to help. Said something about him being involved in something and volunteered to help." They all raised their brows. "So when he gets here, you treat him like the team. Got it?" they all nodded. "Okay, get back to cleaning."
Yuto was helping Changgu lift a beam, when the door opened. He ignored it, lifting the thing up onto the cart full of them. "Damn, Yuto. baseballs working you out." He laughed, shaking his head.
"It's just natural muscle, Changgu. Not sure if you know what that is." He gasped, kicking him.
"Shut the hell up, Adachi." he laughed, pushing him back. They playfully fought, until Changgu had him in a headlock. He laughed, tapping out.
"Yah! It took forever to do my hair." Changgu snorted, messing it up more.
"Yeah, right. It probably took two minutes to do." Yuto smiled, nodding. Hwitaek ran to him, making him turn.
"Hey, isn't that the guy from earlier?" Yuto furrowed his brows, glancing around. He noticed a tall figure standing near the door, with their arms crossed. He was glaring around him, until they locked eyes. Yuto looked down at who was next to the boy, noticing Hyunggu's small frame.
He saw them talking, until the boy walked over to them. Hyunggu was running after him, shaking his head. They all stared at them confusedly, until the boy was in front of them. He was tall, taller than Yuto, making everyone freeze. They all sort of circled around Yuto, because they all knew he was there for him. "Who's the one in charge?" they all glanced back at him.
"Me." Yuto said, standing straighter. The boy looked him up and down, before meeting his eye again.
"Okay then. I'm going to stand out of your way, and don't ask me to do shit." with that, he walked away. His voice was muffled by his mask, but even then he still had a deep, intimidating voice. Hwitaek scoffed, Jackson and Namjoon running over to them.
"Hey, what was that?" Yuto shook his head, picking up another beam.
"Nothing. Just ignore him." Changgu grabbed onto the other side, lifting it up with him. Everyone sighed, going back to work. They had cleaned up the whole gym, when everyone started to leave. It was already pretty late, so Yuto said bye to his friends, with Hyunggu trying to follow him.
"Are you sure you don't want to stay with me tonight?" Yuto smiled, shaking his head.
"I'll be fine. They don't ever notice me anyways." Hyunggu frowned, letting him go. "See you in the morning?" He nodded, waving at him. Yuto turned, seeing the tall boy throwing the door open. He rolled his eyes, wanting nothing to do with him.
He opened the door to his house, hanging his backpack up on the rack. He took his shoes off, before walking down the hall. He poked his head into the kitchen, to see his parents there. They weren't talking, his father to busy with paperwork, and his mother on her phone. He sighed, walking in to grab a water. They didn't say anything, leaving him to walk to his room.
He had picked up some dinner on the way home, so he didn't have to bother them about being hungry. He fell on his bed, turning on his tv. His room felt lonely without someone with him. He put the water on the dresser, going to the bathroom to shower. When he was done, he opened his window to sit on the small roof. He looked around, before he saw two shadows running down the street.
He tried to look closer, but he couldn't see anything. Soon after, a group of people were running the same way. He ignored it again, looking up at the stars. He smiled, letting out a deep sigh. "Hey, grandma." He spent the night looking up, telling his grandma about his day and his friends. Then he quietly snuck back into his room, making sure to turn his tv off. He left the small lamp on, before getting under the covers.
