I paced around the waiting room, biting my lip.

Before there were some games for people that didn't get through along with the girls from class 1-A being in cheerleader outfits from some sort of miscommunication.

A couple of people from Shinsou's team pulled out because they had no memory of the cavalry battle or getting through, which did seem a little sad but a couple for students from class 1-B got to go into the tournament.

I wasn't pacing because I was nervous...well yeah I was nervous, but that wasn't the whole reason I was pacing around.

It was just that the matchup seemed off, I could easily not talk to Shinsou and use my quirk to get him out of the boundaries.

Though it seemed unfair, both of us wanted to get as far through the festivals as we could, but...we both had to decide who would pass or lose.

"Izumi, your time to go up is soon." A hero said, me nodding and following them behind to a small corridor that lead out to the arena for the tournament.

I started walking down the corridor and up some steps as well as Shinsou as Mic introduced us.

"From the general departments, class 1-C, Hitoshi Shinsou! And from the general departments, class 1-C as well is Izumi (Y/n)!" Mic announced, causing a lot of chatter to break out throughout the crowd.

"U.A. must've been biased during the entry exam considering 2 general study students managed to get through."

"Izumi? Wasn't that the Pro Heroes Water Hose last names?"

"These two better be good."

I looked at Shinsou, who seemed a little conflicted as well.

"Start!"

I activated my quirk and sent the arms towards him, who he managed to avoid.

"Come on! Are you going to say anything?" Shinsou taunted as he kept on dodging my attacks.

I shook my head and continued sending attacks that were easy to dodge.

Though I didn't know what to do, beat Shinsou and move forwards or let him use his quirk on me and lose the round.

My mind wandered to Kota, who was probably watching this right now, thinking he would lose his brother to the hero world.

...

No, I don't want him to feel like that.

...

I'll let Shinsou move forwards, he's been wanting this for a while, so I'll let him have his chance.

Besides, getting into the finals is enough for me to get some recognition.

I used my quirk to launch myself forwards, taking note on how long I was using it for and grabbing Shinsou, dragging him towards me.

"Aggravate me or trick me to fall under your quirk." I muttered as he sent a kick towards my stomach

and made me stumble back, deactivating my quirk.

"What's wrong?" Shinsou taunted. "You'll never become a hero if you don't say anything!"

I activated my quirk and grabbed Shinsou, stepping back and swinging him close to the boundary line.

"Why you-!" I cried but felt myself freeze in mid-motion.

"Deactivate your quirk and walk out of the boundaries." Shinsou commanded.

I deactivated my quirk and turned, walking out of the boundary lines, feeling a little disappointed but happy.

The crowd cheered as Shinsou moved upwards in the ranks for the next fight.
