Leaving

I feel strong restraints on my hands, being forcefully pushed down against a cold metal surface. I feel a sudden explosion of pain on my side. I snap my eyes open and squirm at the feeling of someone poking through the bullet hole at my side. I thrash my legs around.

"KEEP HER STILL" I hear Hershel's angry voice yell and to his demand, someone did hold me down.

I screamed in agonizing pain as I saw the blur of a light on the ceiling.

"It's okay Ella, it'll be over soon" I hear Carl's soft and shaky voice. I feel my warm tears stream down my cold cheeks.

"The bullet's been split to two, I can't find the other one" Hershel says frustratedly, I feel him still wiggling around inside and I scream again in pain.

"P-please s-stop" I cry in between sobs but Hershel doesn't listen. He just dives around, determined to find the other bullet piece.

"Just a little more Arabella, a little more"

I feel him get deeper and I scream louder, the people holding me down has their pressure increasing as I fight back.

"Got it! Hold still!" Hershel yells and I pant. As he pulls out, I yell again and pant harder, staring up at the ceiling with wide eyes.

"I have to stitch it up" He says and doesn't even give me time to react as he just pierces the needle through my skin. I just hold in my screams and squirm a bit, feeling my face turning red from bearing with the pain.

...

"There, finished" Hershel says wiping his forehead and standing up. I still feel excruciating pain in my sides, but I just ignore it the best I could.

"You want some painkillers? Or can you bear the pain?" Hershel asks as he helps me sit up. I scan the room and see everybody, staring at me with concern.

"I can, bear the pain" I say softly and Hershel nods.

"It's a good thing Daryl brought you back just in time, or you would've had bled to death"

I look up at Daryl and give him a warm smile.

"Thanks Daryl, I appreciate it"

"Ah it's nothi'n kid. You saved my life once, now we're even" He replies. I smile slightly and still feel some pain in my side.

"You get some rest alright? Carl, help her to the cell" Glenn says softly patting my back. Carl comes to me with a smile and helps me hop off the metal table.

They greet me 'goodnights' and some 'get well soon kid' sayings as Carl carefully places his arm around my waist avoiding the wound, and I place my arm around his neck. We-er-I hop off with him back to our cell. He gently places me on the bottom bunk as I sit with a low groan.

"I was really worried, I thought you'd go in a coma or lose a lot of blood or something" Carl scratches the back of his neck, looking down at me.

"Scared to lose me, Grimes?" I smirk. He chuckles slightly.

"Of course, I just met someone who I can relate to" He shrugs and I smile.

"Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere sheriff" I smile and I struggle to lie down on the bed. As soon as my head rests on the pillow, I breath out a sigh of relief and relaxation.

"I'll be on the top bunk if you need anything, alright? Wake me up if you need anything" He says.

I laugh at him.

"Alright Carl, let's get some rest okay?" I smile and he nods before going on the top bunk.

I hear silence in the cell and outside, looks like everyone's gone to bed. I sigh and close my eyes, the pain in my side appearing then disappearing. I groan slightly before shifting into a more comfy position.
