when the sun finally sets, the sky darkening to twilight, i count the stars as they twinkle into existence, lighting up the world from far away; beacons of hope; paving the way for the lost. i
count them one by one, never missing a single
light, wondering if you're looking up at the stars
too. i look towards the moon. there's no need to voice my thoughts about you being safe and
content as the moon already knows my
deepest wishes.
