Valencia looked down at the ropes and tried to calm down. She followed the outstretched rope and saw the man come towards her his hands glowing a bright blue. She was still struggling against the ropes and suddenly they weren't as tight anymore. Valencia fell on her knees as if pushed by an invisible force and the ropes disappeared as the man sat down in front of her.
"Hello Valencia. I'm Warren." He said in a very soft voice. Valencia didn't know why but she didn't want to run away even though the ropes weren't around her anymore. She just stared back at him and after a while snapped out of it.
"Okay? What do you want?" She asked trying to sound strong despite her heart beating hard against her chest. She didn't dare to make a wrong move, she wanted to pretend that she was fine with sitting down in the middle of the street and chat until she got a chance to run for it.
"You don't remember me? Even now?" He asked his voice dripping with.. pain? Valencia just looked at him in confusion and then pity. The poor boy probably lost someone close to him and thinks she's however he lost.
"No. I'm sorry Warren. But I have no idea who you are. How do you know me?" She wondered how he'd recognised her through her disguise.
"How could I not know you Val, you're the-" he was about to say something but it seemed like something had finally clicked within him.
"Forget it. Can we start over? I'm Warren, a friend of Conrad. You know him right?" After a while he added "of course you do" quietly.
"Yeah. I live with him, why?"
"Did you ever ask him why he's letting you stay at his home?" He asked. Valencia nodded.
"Yeah I did, he just said he wanted to help out a fellow witch. It was some code or something, to help out a fellow supernatural as there is an entire army of people against us."
Warren rolled his eyes. "Yeah that's true, but he's not helping you out just because of that. There's a whole part of your life that's been hidden from you till now."
"Um, okay? I assume you know it?"
"I do. Do you want to know about it?"
"Yeah I guess."
"Come on." Warren got up and started walking away. Valencia wondered whether she should follow this strange man who came out of nowhere claiming to know something about her she didn't. Some part of her didn't believe it but the other part argued that she hadn't known she was a witch until a while ago. Who knows what other mysteries were a part of her life. She got up and slowly started walking behind him. She kept the one spell she knew ready in her mind.
"How do you know me again? I don't think you answered that." Valencia asked catching up with Warren.
"Long story short, we both knew each other once and now you don't remember me."
"Why? I know I have a bad memory but I don't think it's this bad. Did you erase my memories? Is that what happened? Also you never told me where we're going."
"I didn't erase your memories, but someone did. And we're going to a tunnel."
"Who did? Also a tunnel? That's creepy, and if you try to kill me just know I can fight you." She said it as fiercely as she could completely aware that she could only fight him off with one spell.
"You can trust me Val. And you're the one who made this tunnel our meeting place. So call yourself creepy. Not me."
"I still am lost on how you recognised me. You shouldn't have been able to-"
"I know. You have put on a disguise. When I knew you, this is what you looked like. Not your other self."
"I'm extremely confused."
