Will
"And lastly, that's Bill." The nurse finished introducing me to the kids who sat at a long table wearing the same color as me. I looked at all of them and wondered why they were here. They all looked so......normal. Except they looked tired. Their faces exhausted with dark bags beneath their eyes and their slouched bodies.
I didn't say anything, neither did they. "You can eat in your room if you feel uncomfortable." The nurse stated. I looked up at her then at the tray in my hand. Honestly, I didn't even feel like eating.
I had a raging headache, my entire body felt sore and my mouth ached. My tongue was dry and each of my teeth hurt. My throat felt as if i'd swallowed a scorpion. "I'll take that as a yes." She said and grabbed my hand to lead me back to my room. "So, if you need anything there's a button right over there. This room is only temporary, so yeah we might be moving you today or tomorrow. And before I forget my name is Kelly." She told me before leaving.
I looked around the room and saw Mike's teddy bear. I just felt like crying. I grabbed it then laid back down in bed. I held it close and pulled myself into a ball. I cried and cried until I fell asleep.
Mike(a few days later)
I wiped my sweaty palms on my jeans as my mom's car pulled in front of the ice cream place that I was meeting Joyce, Hopper and Jonathan. "Bye baby. Behave and don't forget to call me." She said. "Alright. Bye Mom." I said and climbed out the car. I closed the door and started heading across the street. "Mike! You forgetting something?" She called from the car. She had rolled the window down and was sticking her head out.
She held out my bookbag. "Oh crap." I said and rushed back. She smiled and handed it to me. "Bye!" I said and ran back to the front doors. My mom didn't pull off until she saw me enter the parlor. Joyce and Jonathan were here. Jonathan wasn't eating anything and Joyce was sipping a milk shake. Where's Hopper?
I walked over to them and sat in the booth. "Hey Mike." Joyce said in a sweet calm voice. She smiled but I could see in her eyes that she was sad. "Hey Ms, Byers. Where's Hopper?" I said. She shrugged and played with her straw. "He's on his way. You ready?" She asked me.
Honestly, I wasn't. Today we were gonna visit Will. We spent some time away, even Jonathan. We didn't visit. To give him some time. But we got a call saying he was ready for visitors and that's the plan. We were gonna visit. Then something unexpected happened. Hopper walked in. Not alone. He was with his daughter, Eleven.
And Will's father, Lonnie.
