Despite the grim title, I was DYING as I read over this chapter. No spoilers, but, there's a scene with Chaos and I just DIED after I wrote it,(you'll know it when ya read it) but it's perfect 👌. Hope you enjoy this, get a few kicks out if it.

|A few hours after Francoeur took Loralei back to the cabaret|

"What do you mean you can't help her? There's gotta be something you can do!" Francoeur yelled.

"There's not much I can do, if it was just a small cut, then yeah, but with a wound that deep in her side, and the blood loss from that gun shot, I don't know, Francoeur, she might not-"

"Don't finish that sentence. She's a fighter, she won't give up that easily."

"Maybe the professor could be of some assistance?" Lucille packed up her bag of medical supplies.

"He's out of town for the week... won't be back for another 5 days."

"Without proper treatment, Francoeur, I don't know."

"We can take her to a hospital."

"And what do you suppose we do when they ask how she obtained such a gruesome injury? Tell them that she was kidnapped by a giant flea, whom shot her, threw her, and was then saved by another giant flea?"

"Well, no.."

"Then as I said, we can't take her to the hospital." Lucille glanced at Lora, whom lay sleeping on her bed, her waist wrapped in bloody bandages. "I just.. don't know what we can do."

They both left the room, Francoeur closed the door behind him, and they walked down to the dining room.

(At this point, we already know stuff happens when doors close, so let's get to it)

|Lorelei's P.O.V|

I sat there, lying on my bed, after all, I couldn't do much else. The whole side of my body felt like it was on fire, and at the same time, I was shivering.

I figure that sleeping would take some of the pain. I slowly began to turn on my other side, though excruciating, I managed. I looked out of the window, and there he is.

Abigor. Climbing into my room through the window. "Coast's clear." He calls out of the window. A few seconds later Chaos jumps down from the roof onto the window seal, he looks at the window, then at Abigor.

"You expect me to fit through this window?" He glares at Abigor.

"If you believe hard enough." Abigor chuckles

"Okay Dora the explorer, but if I get stuck, your helping me out."

I found myself snickering as I watched Chaos attempt to fit through the window, and after some squeezing, he managed to fit through. He dusted himself off as he took in his surroundings.

"Is she going to be alright?" Abigor gestured towards me, apparently not noticing I was awake.

I took this opportunity to close my eyes, and listen closely.

I heard footsteps as someone stepped up to the edge of the bed. My grip tightened slightly on the blanket, which had been pulled up to my neck.

"Well, I'd have to see the wound." Chaos spoke, Abigor walked up to the bed next to him, and I assume he gave some form of consent, as the next moment I felt the cover slowly being pulled off of me, and an icy wave of air rush onto me, causing me to shiver.
