Lucille laid on the floor motionless, her eyes closed, and chest unmoving. Raoul dropped to his knees beside her, shaking her shoulder.
"Lucille! Lucille wake up!" He put two of his fingers on her wrist, and let out a relieved sigh. "She's breathing, it's light, but its there. I think shes just unconscious."
A wave of relief washed over them, but was quickly replaced with fear, as Raoul spotted blood on the floor, occasional patches of blood, leading towards the open window.
"It's not Lucille's, so it must be Lora's. He shot her.."
"He wouldn't have done that, he might pull some dangerous 'jokes' now and again, but he'd never outright kill someone, he has a light sense of morality."
"Yeah well, Lora's a new play thing to him, so we don't know what he'd do. If he did shoot her, we need to split up and go find her before it's too late."
Francoeur nodded, and, not bothering to change out of his outfit, made his way towards the window. Soon, with a little help from Raoul, made his way out the window.
"I dont see how he gets through these windows so quickly."
"It's because all you do is eat, Francoeur." Raoul joked.
Meanwhile, with Lora and Abigor...
He set her down gently on the of soft grass, blood staining the area around her, panting softly from the long trip.
"We're far enough from the cabaret to be able to stay here for a bit, I doubt they'll start searching further around Paris until tomorrow, maybe the weekend if we're lucky." Abigor looked around the park.
Lora gripped her side. "You still can't aim, can you?"
"I happen to think I have excellent aim."
"Then how in the world did you put the gun to my head, yet the bullet grazed my side, if your such a 'sharp shooter'?"
"Magic." He chuckled. "You sit tight, while I go and get some bandages." He turned, and jumped in the direction of a nearby medical supply store.
"It's not like I was planning on going anywhere." She said, pushing her self up into a sitting position.
She looked around the grassy meadow, flowers of every color littering the ground around her.
"Ten years ago, I never would have thought something like this was possible.. I've befriended a giant, talking flea, who can play instruments... not to mention his, ridiculous brother, who couldn't aim to save either of our lives. I mean.. it could be worse, Chaos could've killed Abigor, and me too, probably. I never even met him, but he couldn't even walk properly after from killing Chaos.. I had to care fro him for months. Kinda makes me wonder what i'd be doing now if I had never met Abigor, and Francoeur by association."
She picked a light blue flower, twirling it lightly in her hand, setting it in her lap as someone walked up from behind her. Abigor stepped into her line of sight.
"Well, for one, your life definitely wouldn't be as exciting as it is now." He sat down beside her, handing her the first-aid kit. She gave him a slightly confused look. "Well, I'm not going to put the bandages on you, I don't even know how."
She rolled her eyes, opening the first-aid kit. "Why are you even bothering to do this to him? Break his heart, I mean. It just seems like a lot for a simple prank."
"Well, Lora, our past is.. rough, to say the least. We lied, stole, cheated, less Francoeur than I and Chaos, but regardless. To get straight to the point, we'll consider it revenge."
"You never talk about him when I'm around." She grabbed a large patch from the first-aid kit.
"Who?" His head turned slightly as he spoke, similar to a puppy.
"Chaos. Neither of you seem particularly fond of him, so what happened?"
"It's not something i'd like to discuss.." He sighed
"Cmon, it can't be that bad." She prodded, leaning towards him.
"Lora.."
"Cmon, just tell me!" She leaned in closer
"Lora..." His hands tightened into fists
"Please! I'll make you dinner for an entire week! Just tell m-" She begged.
"Lora!" He shouted, en edge in his voice, making her jump out of both surprise and fear. "I told you, I don't want to talk about it!"
She leaned back, turning her attention back to her wound, placing the large patch on her side, covering the wound.
They sat there in silence for a few minutes, allowing Lora to finish patching up her wound, and Abigor to plan his next sentence carefully.
He looked at her, his eyes soft, he opened his mouth to speak, yet he couldn't put the right words together in his mind. "Listen.. Lora, I-I didn't mean to yell, I just.. it's a tough subject."
" I'm sorry for prodding..." She spoke, picking up the flower on her lap.
Abigor pulled her into a hug, holding her tightly, while she continued twirling the flower with her fingers. He glanced down at the flower, before picking a white flower, setting it in her hair. He rested his head on her shoulder. "Do you forgive me, Lora?"
"Well, it's not like I've ever been able to say no to you. That's how I got into all of this in the first place."
"LET HER GO ABIGOR!"
Abigor just barely pushed Lora out of the way as Francoeur fell down onto Abigor, tackling him.
|????'s P.O.V|
I watched as they began to fight, throwing punches and trying to kick each other whenever they saw an opportunity.
They looked like children, fighting over a toy, or, in this case, a woman. Either way, the toy and the woman have the same purpose. A woman living two different lives, on two different ends of the spectrum, being used in some petty game of revenge. But like most toys, they break eventually.
Though, I suppose im in this little game as well, trying to resolve something that ended years ago. Trying to avenge them, because of what my idiotic little brothers did...
They won't know what hit them..
They'll be dead. Every single one of them.
Thanks for reading! I'm intrigued to see what you guys think is going to happen in the next chapter, and who you think our newest mystery character is! :P Make sure to vote and comment!
