July

While Jisung and Minho were eating donuts, (they were too lazy to go back to the store and make pancakes again, so they stopped by a donut shop and brought them home to eat) Minho carefully asked, "So, uh, are you okay?"

Minho hated to break the happy mood they had, but he was worried for Jisung and the massive breakdown he had the day before.

Jisung paused for a second, then set down his donut. "Ah, it's just that it's been seven years since my dad passed away," Jisung said quietly, staring at his fidgeting hands. "I...Sometimes, I still get dreams about it...that night. And-" He shuddered, on the verge of tears. "Oh, god, I just feel so guilty! It was all my fault!"

"No, baby, it wasn't your fault," Minho soothed.

"You don't understand! It was my fault, hyung." Jisung rubbed his eyes. At this rate, Minho was just going to think that he was a crybaby.

Warm arms wrapped around Jisung's waist, and Minho set his head on top of Jisung's as he pulled him into his embrace.

"Don't cry," Minho whispered, "Everything is so much better when I get to see you smile."

Jisung pushed down his tears and smiled weakly for Minho. The black haired boy beamed when he saw that Jisung had stopped crying.

"So...are you doing anything today, Jisungie? I want to go shopping with you," Minho smirked.

Jisung's eyes widened, and he checked his phone. "Shoot, hyung. Today's my first day at my internship. I gotta head home and get ready."

He stood and threw away his trash. Once everything was cleaned up, Jisung changed back into his clothes from yesterday and opened the front door. Before he left, he turned and smiled warrmly at Minho. "Thank you so, so much for being there for me, Minho-hyung." After that, he lightly pulled the door closed and hurried home.

Jisung jogged home, checking his watch every minute. He still had about three hours before he was supposed to be in, but Jisung needed to make sure that he was punctual and prepared.

Three hours later, Jisung found himself riding the elevator up to the fourth floor of an office building. He was an intern for the local detective agency. Jisung was using the shiny aluminum walls of the elevator to fix his hair when his phone rang.
