Minho couldn't wipe the smile off his face. Jisung was bound to arrive at his apartment any moment for a "study session," but Minho was hoping that instead of studying, they would be doing a lot more flirting.
Minho checked his reflection one last time, ruffling his hair to finish off his look. He wasn't wering anything special, just a striped button-up shirt and some jeans, but it gave off a cool vibe that Minho thought was just a little too nice for studying clothes.
Then, the doorbell rang, and Minho opened it, revealing Jisung with his pretty honey hair.
"Hey," Minho said coolly, beckoning for Jisung to come in.
Jisung smiled. "Hi." He strolled in, tossing his backpack haphazardly near the couch. He immediately went for the fridge, taking out a chocolate milk that Minho had bought earlier for their study date.
"You bought my favorite one," Jisung said mindlessly, coming back to sit next to Minho on the couch. "How have you been?" He stared at Minho with his big brown eyes, and Minho couldn't help but stare back. All of Jisung's features were endearing, and Minho couldn't take his eyes off of them.
"It could be better," Minho mumbled, staring at Jisung's adorable cheeks. "But that doesn't mattter. What's up with you? What did you find out at work?"
Jisung perked up and eagerly explained the progress the detective agency had made due to Minho's screw-ups. His eyes were glittering with excitement. Minho was conflicted - his heart was doing backflips seeing Jisung's passion, but he was also filled with sadness as he realized that his relationship was doomed.
While Jisung was chatting away, Minho held his hand out for the chocolate milk, and Jisung subconsciously handed it to him. Minho smiled giddily at how easy that was, and then took a sip. Jisung's eyes widened when he realized what just happened, but then it seemed like something else distracted him and he scrunched his nose.
Minho hyung smells like smoke, he noted. He eyed Minho up and down to see if something was wrong, but he looked perfectly fine.
"Is there something wrong? Is it Felix and Changbin?" Minho asked, concerned. Jisung promptly began to explain how Felix forgot their anniversary because he had made plans to play Fortnite that night. Now, Changbin was pissed because Felix chose games over him and it seemed like Felix didn't care that he missed their anniversary.
Minho was laughing, and it made Jisung's chest feel warm, but the smoke smell lingering on Minho's skin was distracting.
Just then, Minho slipped a pack of cigarettes out of his back pocket and lit one.
"Hyung, you smell like smoke. You should really stop, it's bad for your health," Jisung noted, looking Minho in the eyes. He made puppy dog eyes and watched as Minho's defenses crumbled.
"Easier said than done, Sungie," Minho said wearily, sheepishly rubbing the back of his head then running a hand through his hair, not making eye contact. He took another puff on his cigarette and sighed, staring sadly out the window of his balcony.
"Then, if you feel like you need to smoke...k-kiss me," Jisung blurted, saying it before actually comprehending what just came out of his mouth.
Minho stared back, shocked, with his eyes wide and the cigarette dangling limply between his lips.
Jisung was just as shocked as Minho, if not more. He watched as Minho put out his cigarette in slow motion, carelessly tossing it on the coffee table without breaking eye contact with Jisung.
"Well, I really need to smoke right now, Jisung," Minho said lowly, eyeing Jisung through his long eyelashes.
Jisung's heart threatened to burst out of his chest as he watched as Minho leaned in and carefully put his lips on Jisung's. Minho's eyes were open the whole time, but his gaze was too intense. Jisung's eyes fluttered shut when Minho's lips started moving.
