Chapter Twenty-three: New Years birthday party...

Kai's POV

"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday to Crystal, happy birthday to you!"

It was New Years Eve, a day after Crystal's birthday, and we were celebrating both with a party. All the boys were here, and other boys and girls from school that Crystal liked. Unfortunately Hyunjin was here too, and I could most definitely see wherever he went, but I pulled off acting like I didn't see a thing.

Crystal smiled at us all before blowing out her birthday candles, and everyone cheered. "Cake time!" She said with a laugh, and started cutting pieces of cake for everyone, with the help of a few girls.

"Kai!" Haechan called out, and I looked at him with a raised eyebrow.

"What?"

"I can't wait until you turn eighteen next year! You'll have the best Valentine's Day slash birthday ever!" Haechan said grinning and I smiled.

"Well you have approximately forty-five days until then. I hope you plan something fun," I said.

"Of course I will! My name is Haechan, that just says fun," Haechan boasted, and I shook my head.

"What did you do for your eighteenth birthday?" I asked Haechan as we both grabbed a piece of cake after waiting for it.

"Ugh, I went to school," Haechan groaned, rolling his eyes and I laughed. "But after that I went out and ate, and I stayed out past midnight and just had fun. It was awesome."

"Sounds like something you'd do," I nodded. Haechan pouted in protest, but I ignored him and ate my cake. It was really good, and before I knew it, it was all gone. After throwing my plate away I just walked around to find a seat. There was a good amount of people here, so most chairs were occupied.

"Hi Kai!" A voice called out to me, and I turned around to see Changbin.

"Oh. Hi, how are you?" I asked him, and he smiled.

"I'm good! Are you looking for a chair?" Changbin asked.

"Uh yeah."

"Lucky for you, I have a free one, come on!" Changbin said, and I followed him over towards our dining room area where there were a group of boys, probably his friends. Like Changbin said, there was a free seat and I took it.

"You know these guys right?" Changbin asked me. I looked around at the boys, and some were familiar looking, but some weren't, so I shook my head no.

"I've seen them around school, but I don't know their names or anything," I explained.

"Well that's Felix, Seungmin, Han, and Woojin, and of course you know me. Guys this is Kai if you didn't know her name before," Changbin said, introducing us and I waved at the boys.

"You're really pretty," Han said, and I smiled.

"Thank you," I replied quietly.

"Yeah she is pretty, but she's also dating me, so if you were thinking about that you can stop now," Haechan said, coming out of no where, and I shook my head.

"Oh no, I wasn't," Han said, shaking his head.

"Don't worry about him, he's just extra and I just happen to like him," I explained.

"Haechan! When are we going to hang out like you said?" Seungmin asked.

"Soon, I told you we can hang out after new years. People always want to hang with me so I'm booked at the moment," Haechan boasted.
