Chapter Thirty-Three: Extroverts and introverts..

Kai's POV

T minus seven days until your birthday!!

Each day I woke up to a message similar to that from Haechan. He's been doing that since February first, and him counting down is just making me anticipate my birthday more.

For more than one reason too.

Not only do I turn eighteen, but it is also Valentine's day, a day of love for the people here. Also, Haechan says he has the whole day planned out after school. I was nervous and excited for that day at the same time, and with only seven days left, my nerves were almost through the roof.

Well, not literally. That was just a figure of speech. They seem to have a lot of those here.

This Wednesday morning was surprisingly calm for us, which usually school mornings aren't. Someone usually is always complaining about waking up, someone would use their powers to get around, someone would tell the ones using their power to stop, and someone just wouldn't get out of bed until it was almost too late.

During all of that chaos, I usually sit on my bed in my room and read. Only because by the time they all start doing this, I'm already dressed and ready to go. If they would just slow down and stop rushing they'd see that it's much easier to get ready when you're calm.

Today though, I think everyone was calm. Either that or they were just too tired from the work to complain. Either way they were quiet, and I could peacefully read today.

After a while, every girl was dressed and ready, so we left for school. We got there relatively early, but not too early. As per usual, Haechan and all the boys lounged around by the school entrance. They were always there early, and I always wondered why.

I never asked though. Each day I usually walked past them into school and Haechan would follow, but today I walked right up to them all.

"Hi guys," I said.

"Kai!" Haechan, was of course the first person to say something, and I smiled at him as he smiled at me. "Hi," he waved, and I waved back.

"Kai you should smile more! You have a nice smile!" Chenle complimented me.

"Naw, I'd rather keep that beautiful smile all to myself," Haechan said, and I blushed at his words.

"Thanks Chenle, maybe I will," I replied to Chenle, and he nodded with a smile.

"You ready for your birthday next week?" Jaemin asked, and I nodded.

"Each day I get a little more anxious about it," I told them while glancing at Haechan, and he had a wide grin on his face.

"Are you hyungs still going to help me?" Jisung asked.

"Of course kid!" Winwin nodded.

"Listen, once I'm finished helping you, you'll have the best gift ever behind mine," Haechan boasted, and I shook my head at him.

"What do you need help with Jisung? I'm sure this peabrain won't be of much help," I said, and Jisung checked his surroundings first.

"I need help with Valentine's day and doing something for Angel!" He said, and I smiled.

"That's so sweet," I cooed, and Jisung smiled shyly. "Don't tell her I told you this, but she's been wanting to try ice skating or rollerblading," I said, and Jisung nodded.

"Thanks!"

"Look at my other half helping you, see I told you I would help," Haechan said.

"Come on Haechan, it's time for you to stop talking," I said as I grabbed his wrist and pulled him into the school building with me. We both went upstairs and stopped at my locker. Once I let go of Haechan's wrist, I took off my bag and opened my locker to put books in there.
