Taehyung was humming a song as he tried to flip a pancake without it flying out of the pan. He was wearing Jimin's apron that, for some reason, was pink and flowery and full of chocolate smudges from when he last tried to bake a cake.
Jimin had an evening class so he had bestowed Taehyung with the new title of cook for the night. He would be back around 8 pm and Taehyung guessed that the sight of pancakes would be something to cheer him up after coming back from class.
The apartment was deadly silent except for the sizzling of the pan and Taehyung's occasional humming. The male couldn't believe how peaceful a place could be. His former flat always had neighboring noises and the old building mostly made noise from itself. No wonder he slept a lot better here and could find peace once he stepped inside the flat.
Jungkook was in Hoseok's bedroom because he had a big wooden desk where the younger could make his homework on. It was weekend but Jungkook took his studies very seriously, especially since he wanted to improve his Korean even more now he had two boyfriends who spoke the language fluently. He didn't want to be left behind by not being able to understand them when they made jokes or used slang.
The older males often helped him with his homework because they couldn't bear to look at a sad Jungkook who had gotten bullied again because of his broken speech. In return they got to see the younger's pretty smile when he got a good grade in his Korean class.
A knock on the door interrupted the peaceful state of the apartment. Taehyung frowned at that, wondering who the hell it could be since no one was expecting any visitors. Jimin had a key, Hoseok did too and Taehyung had no friends except for them.
He lifted the pan and placed it onto a cold surface so the pancake wouldn't burn when unsupervised. He then turned down the heat and placed his spatula next to the pan. Another knock was heard and Taehyung hurried to the door to greet the impatient person behind it.
He hadn't expected the person behind it, and he wished he hadn't opened the door at all.
"So it's true that you moved here", Yoongi spoke, his eyes scanning the younger's outfit, "I won't question the apron".
"I wouldn't care if you would", Taehyung scoffed, immediately annoyed by the sight of the older, "What do you want? How did you even find me?"
Yoongi shrugged, "I have my sources. Aren't you going to let me in?"
Taehyung looked down onto the younger, glad he was much taller than him, and blocked the entrance, "I don't know, should I? Last time I did you started threatening me to join your stupid gang again".
Yoongi pushed past him and rolled his eyes when he noticed the stack of pancakes in the kitchen. "Since when do you make food?"
"Since I started living as an actual human being", the younger merely replied, "I probably can't say the same about you".
"I can't believe this is the Taehyung I met years ago", Yoongi shook his head in disbelief, taking a look at the apartment, "Next thing you're telling me you started arranging flowers like a housewife".
"Did you just come here to criticize my new life?", Taehyung sighed, wondering if he should shut the door or if that would be a sign as if he was accepting Yoongi into the apartment, which was definitely not his intention, "If that's the case you can leave this instant. I'm not in the mood to listen to your words".
The males got disturbed by a small voice coming from the other side of the room.
"Hyung?", Jungkook called out, peeking from behind the door, "I finish my homework". He stepped out once he noticed they got a visitor, a bit shy since he was wearing one of Taehyung's old hoodies and Jimin's pajamas shorts. "I don't knew we got visitor", he said, glancing between the two males, "Hello".
"Really Taehyung?", Yoongi scoffed, averting his eyes from the younger boy standing on the other side of the room, "A high school boy? Don't you have any shame?"
"Shut up since you don't know what you're talking about", Taehyung clicked his tongue and crossed his arms, "And say hello back you asshole. Don't you have any manners?"
Yoongi rolled his eyes and turned back to the younger boy, "Hello".
Jungkook smiled at him before noticing the stack of pancakes in the kitchen. As the two other males turned back to each other he quickly scurried over to the pancakes and grabbed one, rolling it nicely and taking a bite from it. He knew Jimin would only come back in half an hour but he was hungry right now. It was only a little snack.
"Can you leave now? I don't have time for you", Taehyung sighed, glaring at the older. He then looked back at where Jungkook had been before noticing the younger was gone. He furrowed his eyebrows and turned to the kitchen where Jungkook was gulfing down a pancake.
"Jungkook!", he called out sternly, making the younger freeze, his eyes widening.
"Hyungie", a sheepish smile formed onto his lips, "Hungry".
"At least grab a plate you absolute caveman", Taehyung said, pointing at where the plates where. Jungkook only shrugged and took a bite out of the pancake he was holding, "Better for planet this way".
"What's wrong with his Korean?", Yoongi said, making Jungkook's happy munching face fall. The oldest winced when he got slapped across the chest.
"Shut up", Taehyung hissed, angrily glaring at Yoongi, "Leave. You have no reason to be here".
"Yugyeom ordered me-"
"I don't give a shit about him"; Taehyung cut him off, not wanting another word about that man to be said in his home.
Yoongi clicked his tongue, "You will".
"And there you go again, threatening me in my own home. I don't fucking care what the infant has to say. He saved his own ass by getting me into prison. Now I served my time and want a normal life. Can't he fucking understand that?", Taehyung started getting mad, hoping Yoongi would get the fucking hint and leave.
Yoongi shook his head, "No".
"Do you want me to threaten you back? Want me to say I still know a lot of names from drug runners? Does he want me to tell the police?", Taehyung said, getting snappy now.
The older raised an eyebrow, "I don't think that's a smart thing to say Taehyung. He can take you out in a second and you know it".
Taehyung pinched his nose in annoyance, "Why the fuck does he want me back anyway? He has enough people as it is". He now noticed how Jungkook was still in the kitchen, listening to their conversation while munching on a pancake.
"I'm only the messenger Taehyung, you can ask him yourself when you get back", Yoongi shrugged.
"I won't go back", Taehyung glared, "Get out of my home before I hit you with a spatula".
Yoongi sighed, noticing how this conversation was going nowhere. "Alright, I'm out. Nice meeting you random kid".
Jungkook waved goodbye, another pancake having appeared in his other hand, "Bye bye stranger".
Taehyung slammed the door shut behind Yoongi, hoping he hit his ass on the way out. He turned around in relief, hoping that was the last thing he'd seen from Yoongi, but also knowing that wouldn't be the case.
"Can I help make pancakes?", Jungkook asked, noticing how Taehyung looked annoyed after speaking with the stranger.
Taehyung smiled at the request and nodded, "Sure". But he knew Jungkook's only help would be eating the pancakes he just made.
