Taehyung sighed as his figure sank into the mattress. It was currently 2 am and his sleeping kills had no intention on kicking in at all. He had been pacing around the room for two hours, hoping to catch some sleep at least, but nothing worked. He blamed the three cups of coffee that he had drunken after dinner, and maybe the horror movie he had seen after that.
His body was exhausted but his head didn't want to sleep. So he wondered on what to do now. He could just go out again but he was afraid he'd meet Jimin again. Since that guy now knew about his special spot, the chance to run into him had expanded.
He groaned one final time before throwing on his jacket and going out the door in search of adventure. The night was dark and was lit by street lanterns, the orange glow giving the city a gloomy mood. His footsteps echoed through the small and abandoned streets, his eyes going up the rows of dark windows where people were having a good night sleep.
He felt jealous of those people with normal lives, normal families, normal relationships & friendships. Even though he could have had all of those, he himself had chosen to throw them all away. And for what? For his ex to leave him? Leave him with debts, broken dreams and a shattered heart?
A pebble skidded along the side walk and landed against his shoe. His eyes trailed from the stone upwards until he came face to face with a familiar looking boy. The boy had stopped walking as well and his dark blue hoodie almost hid the raven black hair underneath. Taehyung stared at him for a while, an awkward tension forming between them, before he proceeded his way, crossing the boy and leaving him behind.
"Hey! Wait!"
He heard quick footsteps from behind him and realized the boy was running up to him. Taehyung glanced sideways and sighed when he noticed that the boy slowing down to walk alongside him.
"What do you want?", he asked, stuffing his hands inside of the pockets his sweater provided him with.
"Talk?", the highschooler asked, feeling as if he wasn't welcome but deciding to ignore it.
Taehyung scoffed and quickened his pace, "And who says I want to talk?"
"I? And I thinked that maybe it is weird that I see Jimin and you everywhere".
This made the older slow down again and he ultimately stopped walking, "I don't know Jimin, he's just some stranger. I also don't know you. Now, scram and go home. You shouldn't be outside so late at night".
"You too".
Taehyung turned to the raven haired boy and have him a questioning look, "What me too?"
"You should go home too".
This effectively made the older scoff, "I'm old enough to decide that for myself, thank you very much".
He proceeded to walk, leaving the younger standing on the side walk. Taehyung cursed at himself for being so goddamn rude but he knew it was for the best. The boy was better off not knowing someone like him. In the middle of his inner rant he heard two words coming from the boy standing far behind him.
"Thank you".
He stopped and turned to the boy standing a good couple of meters away from him, "For what?"
"For threatening bullies. Today they did not dare bully me", the boy replied loud enough for the other to hear him.
Taehyung stood perplexed. He hadn't noticed that Jungkook had seen him threaten the kids.
"Jimin saw you do that. Yesterday he told me", the younger explained, "So thank you".
"Good. I mean- good that they stopped bullying you. It- uh it was nothing. I just hate bullies", Taehyung replied awkwardly, his hand going up to rub the back of his neck.
Jungkook smiled softly at him before turning around and walking off into the opposite direction.
The green haired male dropped his hand and sighed.
Since when did Jimin and this kid know each other?
