"Hello

"Hello. I am Jeon Jungkook. I am ten five years. I come from Ireland. Parents and me born in Korea but we moved when I 4 years. My Korean very bad. Please take care of me".

The black haired boy smiled nervously at the silent class in front of him, the kids all staring up at him as if he was some alien. The boy's body was filled with anxiety as he wasn't sure his Korean had been good enough. What if they didn't understand him. What if they weren't sure what to say.

His shy smile faltered when the first kids started chuckling. Soon enough most of the children were laughing, both because of the horrible accent the kid spoke & his ridiculous bunny teeth.

The teacher immediately tried silencing the classroom, but Jungkook had already been affected by the laughing children and the countless jokes.

Tears gathered in the poor boy's eyes until he couldn't stand the laughs anymore and ran out of the classroom.

The next days, weeks and months of school weren't any better for him.

His confidence hadn't ever returned.

Music blared through a boy's bedroom as sunlight filtered in through the soft blue curtains.

Jeon Jungkook, also known as bunny boy among the school children, woke up with U2's songs blaring through his phone's speakers. U2, an Irish band Jungkook once saw live when he was younger, always brightened up the boy's day. He stretched out his arms & smiled down at his light purple walls that were littered with posters of video games & movie stars he admired.

He grabbed his beloved otter plushie and booped his nose, "Had good night sleep Bloppy?"

Jungkook was used to talking to inanimate objects or imaginary friends, even though he was aware of the fact they would never talk back. From a young age he had created imaginary friends since he was an only child & didn't have many friends to play with. The language barrier made many things more difficult for him. He still sometimes talked to his old imaginary friends, but knew of course that they weren't really there.

It just comforted him in some sort of way.

"Today is Friday so it is weekend almost", Jungkook smiled hugging his plushie close, "Tonight we will do Disney marathon, maybe I can buy popcorn in shop close to school".

He giggled at the idea and hopped out of bed, ready to start the day. He really wasn't fond of the idea of school, since he didn't have many friends nor did he have the good grades. He really tried his best, but the language barrier & the high expectations in Korea had made him fail his first year, letting him redo that year again. He was eighteen now, but still wasn't close to graduating.

His parents weren't rich nor poor. They lived in a fairly pretty house in a common neighborhood where lots of children his age lived. Jungkook used to have a friend living nearby, but that boy went to another school as him and the contact quickly faltered between the two. They still greeted each other, but further than that it didn't go.

The bunny boy studied hard and his parents knew that. They supported him through everything and understood school could be a hardship Jungkook had to face in order to make it through life.

So everyday they watched their son leave for school with hope in their hearts for their son to finally make friends, or at least one.

But today wasn't that day.

Jungkook survived every hour by ignoring the glances and whispered words directed at him. He listened to English bands or read books to maintain his English, a language he really adored. At least in that class he got the best grades of the whole school. He paid attention when needed and ate alone at lunch. When the last bell of the school day rung, he sighed a sigh of relief and packed his bag, ready to go home.

"He's off to hop home", one boy chuckled when Jungkook passed him.

"Shush. He might hear you", a girl whispered.

A scoff was heard, "He can't speak Korean. What do you think? That he'll understand us? Biggest joke ever".

His almond eyes flitted to the ground as he watched his shoes going step by step until he was out of school and nearing the convenience store. His mood lifted a bit at the thought of popcorn and almost started sprinting towards the fast food section as soon as he entered the air conditioned store.

But what he didn't expect was to be bombarded with salty crisps as soon as he stepped around the corner.

"Oh fuck", a voice spoke.

"Way to go shorty".

"Oh shut up weed boy".
