Oikawa POV
Endless rain and no chance of seeing a slight sunbeam. I sighed and turned my head from the café window to my laptop screen. I started writing my assignment half an hour ago, but all I wrote so far was the headline.
Volleyball: Techniques and Tactics
It wasn't like I had no idea how to write this. I had plenty of knowledge in volleyball and a paper full of notes next to my laptop. I just had no focus to write it. My thoughts were with someone else. Someone I was about to see again.
"Iwa-chan..."
I whispered his name and my heart skipped a beat. I wanted to see him again, he was my dear friend after all. And Iwa-chan said himself that it was okay to meet up. Since he managed to rent my room, I'll have to take a hotel room or maybe I could stay with Makki and Mattsun. I decided to send them a message, asking if they had a place for me to stay. Then I saved my assignment, which still consisted of the headline only and shut down my laptop."Sir, is there anything I can do for you?"
I looked up to see a young woman smiling at me. She was a waitress here and I could see the blush on her cheeks. How adorable. I smiled my brightest smile and politely declined her offer, telling her that I was about to leave. I stood up and grabbed my bag. The waitress was watching my actions the whole time. "Well then, maybe we'll meet again." I winked at her and her blush deepened. "Come visit us again", was the last thing I heard before I left the café. It was still raining, so I took out my umbrella on my way back to my appartment. When I entered the appartement, I immediately took a long, relaxing bath. My flight would depart tomorrow evening, so I checked my luggage in my head once more. "Beauty products need to be packed tomorrow. I better not forget them... and all that's left is the question where to stay."
Just in this moment, my phone vibrated. It was a message from Makki."You're asking pretty early. You're arriving the day after tomorrow, right? You can sleep on the couch."
I left out a relieved sigh. Then I answered Makki, telling him he could use the couch and I'd be sleeping in his bed. Now it was time to get out of the bathtub. I ate dinner, watched TV and eventually went to bed.
"Hey, Shittykawa! If you don't hurry up, you'll be late for your practice match!"
A dream... from back then... when we were roommates and everything was fine. But if I remembered right, it became messy very soon...
I got ready for my first practice match in the national volleyball team. Since I didn't start long ago, I wasn't even sure if I'd be playing, but it didn't stop me from styling my hair perfectly. And in order to look perfect, I needed time. "Oikawa!"
Iwa-chan hammered his fist on the bathroom door, impatiently calling out to me. I sighed before checking myself in the mirror one last time. Then I unlocked the bathroom door and looked into Iwa-chan's angry face.
"Woah, Iwa-chan. You won't get a girlfriend with a face like this, you-"
Before I couldn't even finish, Iwa-chan hit me on my forehead with his palm. "Ouch! Iwa-chan, you meanie! You're going to ruin my face!"
I pouted and rubbed the spot where I was hit. "You better go, before I ruin your pretty face even more!"
"So you admit I'm- okay okay!"
Before Iwa-chan could hit me again, I grabbed my coat and my bag and headed to the door. "See you later, Iwa-chan! Have fun in University!"
I waved my friend goodbye and left.
