Reader POV
"Hey, Sami? How do you know you're in love?"
"When you ask stupid questions like that."
"Sami!"
I threw a towel after my friend, but she left the staff room with a mischievous laugh. I sigh and got the towel back to dry the rest of the dishes that were left. After that, it was finally time to go home.
"Will your chrush's friend be there again?", Sami asked giving me another devilish grin. I nodded.
"He stays until the end of the month, so I guess we'll be hanging around a lot. Maybe you should come too! We're going to Lake Miyagase this weekend. Hajime borrowed a car from an acquaintance and-"
"You're calling him by his first name?! Why didn't you tell me?"
Sami didn't even let me finish my sentence. She grabbed my shoulders and shook me in her excitement. I really should've told her about this, but the recent events were too overwhelming. On our way to the train station, I told Sami everything Oikawa had told me and made her promise to keep it for herself. Of course, I could count on her. Sami agreed to come with us to the lake and I waved her goodbye as I entered the train. On my way home, I listened to my favorite music and silently hummed to the songs."[F/N]-chan! Welcome home!"
As soon as I got home, Oikawa approached me, leaving his arms wide open for a hug. I just stood there, irritated and not knowing what to do. The problem solved itself as Hajime threw a pillow from the couch at Oikawa, hitting him on the back of his head.
"Iwa-chan, what's wrong with you? You're going to scare [F/N]-chan away if you continue like this!"
"The one scaring her away is you, Creepykawa."
"A new nickname...",I said to myself as I headed into the kitchen area to check tonight's dinner.
It was nearly done and smelled good so far. Hajime came to finish cooking. In the meantime, I joined Oikawa on the couch. We talked about our days and I shared some funny stories that happened in the café today.
"Oh! While we're at it, I invited Sami to come with us to the lake. I thought I could need some female support", I said and smiled shyly. Oikawa tilted his head in confusion. "Sami? Who's that?"
"[F/N]'s friend and co-worker. Of course she can come too. Now, come and have dinner", Hajime said as he got the dishes ready. Oikawa and me jumped from the couch and happily made our way to the kitchen area.
Not that I couldn't cook, but Hajme's cooking was just awesome.
"It smells so good", I said before I started eating. "And it tastes so good!"
"Thanks", Hajime said and smiled.
"I don't like broccoli! [F/N]-chan, say aaah!"
Oikawa reached out his fork with a little piece of broccoli towards me. I wasn't sure if I should just take it with my fingers or eat it from the fork. Before I could think I opened my mouth, but Hajime was faster. He took Oikawa's fork and ate the broccoli himself. "Stop complaining when you get invited for dinner, Shittykawa. Just give the broccoli to me."
Oikawa pouted and called Hajime, who was only paying attention to his plate, a meanie. Then Oikawa glared at me and our eyes met. He gave me a brief grin before turning back to his own meal.Iwa POV
"I've got a feeling that there are more people than planned..."
It was Friday morning. I looked into the round of people who gathered before my and [F/N]'s appartment. There was [F/N], her friend Sami and Oikawa, who were invited and planned in our weekend trip.
"So, what are Hanamaki and Matsukawa doing here?", I asked and looked at the two guys who only grinned at me.
"Oikawa said you were going away for the weekend, so we decided to come too", Matsukawa answered.
"Yeah! Don't just exclude us. After all, we're harboring Oikawa at our place. He's a real pain in the ass, so reward us a little, Iwaizumi!", Hanamaki added.
"If you want to be rewarded, stay at home."
Thank god, my acquaintance had an 8 seater car. I sighed and started putting my stuff into the trunk. I took [F/N]'s bag and putted it in too, before asking Sami for her stuff. After Sami's bag was in, I headed to the front of the car and opened the door at the driver's seat.
"Iwa-chan, what about our stuff?",I heard Oikawa asking.
"Do it yourself", I answered as I entered the car.
From the pocket of my jacket, I pulled out a small case. I opened it to find a pair of glasses lying in there. I took them out and put them on. "Woah, Iwaizumi. You're wearing glasses?"
I turned around to face [F/N] and the source of the question, Sami.
"Uh, yes. Only for driving or studying. I thought [F/N] already told you or something..."
I blushed a little, realizing the girls were staring at me. [F/N] shook her head. "I never saw you driving and you're always studying in your room."
"Oh, right."
I turned back again and looked into the rearview mirror to check if the others were done putting their stuff into the car. Luckily, Hanamaki closed the trunk and everyone got into the car.
"Seatbelts on", I said as I started the car.
"Yo, Iwaizumi. What's in that big case here?"
I turned around to Hanamaki, who sat next to my case I placed in the car before everyone came.
"A secret. If you open it, I'll kill you."
I turned around and started driving.
"Yo, [F/N]-chan! Let's play truth or dare!"
"How are you supposed to play truth or dare inside a car, Oikawa?", Matsukawa asked. It was then, that I realized the weird sitting constellation. Even though there were three seats in the front, only Matsukawa sat here, including me as the driver. Behind us were Oikawa and Sami at the windows and [F/N] in the middle. The last row formed Hanamaki and my case.
"Oikawa, how come you're sitting with the girls?", I asked and gave him an annoyed glare through the rearview mirror.
Oikawa smirked back at me. His smirk was mischievous and for some reason, I felt provoked. I knew it were just my feelings for [F/N] and I knew how Oikawa felt. Was he just messing with me? Or... was he messing with [F/N]? She did seem to be attached to him... No, I couldn't afford these thoughts now."[F/N]-chan, truth or dare?"
"Let's see..."
[F/N] thought for a moment, but chose truth.p
"Is there someone you like?"
I had to focus to not crash the car. How could he ask something like that? I heard Matsukawa next to me whistling in surprise.
"Oikawa, you sure are going all out", Hanamaki mentioned.
He was right, but everyone seemed to have fun. I heard [F/N] giggling as Sami was telling her something I couldn't understand. "[F/N], we're waiting for an answer", Sami said.
"U-uhm..."
[F/N] fell silent and so did the entire car. Everyone was probably waiting for her answer, even though I didn't think [F/N] had to answer this. I... I do." Everyone in the car screamed in surprise, even I couldn't hide my surprise. "So there is someone", I muttered to myself.
For the rest of our time in the car, I turned on the radio and focused on driving, but thinking about our upcoming weekend at the lake, I had a bad feeling.
