Two years later...

"Ya Meena, omg, you just made me smudge my lipgloss!" Norah whined, her voice full of frustration.

"Sorry Naana! Off!" Ya Meena said, rolling her eyes at her little sister.

Layla couldn't help but laugh. "Please remind me why you're so determined not to wear full makeup today?"

Norah shrugged nonchalantly. "I just don't feel like it. I've had makeup for all the other events, so I decided to go makeup-free for this one."

Ya Meena and Layla hummed, not really knowing what to say. It was the wedding dinner of Ya Muhammad, who had just married their cousin, Aisha. The atmosphere was joyful, and everyone was dressed to impress.

Layla had gotten her makeup done by a talented artist. She wore a stunning black lace gown that hugged her body perfectly. They all got ready at Ya Meena's house, with Norah and Ya Meena also dressed in gorgeous lace outfits.

Ammar came running into the living room, a wide grin on his face. "Anne!" he called out.

Layla scooped up her two-year-old baby boy and kissed his chubby cheeks. "Why are you running, baby?" she cooed.

Sabrina and Nasreen came into the living room, both dressed in their beautiful flower girl gowns. Layla smiled at them. "Look at you two! You look beautiful, my darlings."

They both smiled. "Thank you, Ane. You look pretty too."

"Thank you! Now, come on, let's snap a picture without Anne and Nana (Ya Meena and Norah)!" Layla said, pulling them in for a quick picture. The camera clicked, capturing the precious moment.

Ya Meena came over, telling them it was time to head out. They gathered their things, got into the cars, and zoomed out of the compound. Thankfully, they weren't too late.

When they arrived at the venue, they got out of the cars and walked inside. The elders entered the event hall, while Sabrina and Nasreen were lined up outside with the couple, preparing for the grand entrance.

The beautiful couple entered the hall gracefully, smiles lighting up their faces. They looked stunning together.

"I spot Kalbim! Let me go take pictures with him," Layla said, leaving her sisters behind.

She made her way toward Muhammad, Khalifah, and a few of Ya Muhammad's friends, exchanging pleasantries with everyone at the table.

"Hey babe, you look beautiful as always," Muhammad said, smiling sweetly at her.

"Thank you, you look so handsome too," she winked at him. BigH, the photographer, snapped a picture of Layla and Muhammad. She excused herself when she saw Ni'imah and Ibty walking into the marquee.

"Mamie and Mummy, wallahi, you both look like you haven't given birth, while I'm here looking fat," she rolled her eyes, playfully teasing them.

Ni'imah gave her a knowing look. "You? Fat? See the woman, fah."

"Kai, Layla, you should thank God for your weight, wallahi. You don't even look like you've had two beautiful kids," Ibty chuckled.

"Yeah, whatevs. Let's go take our seats," Layla said, and they headed to where she and a few of her age-mate cousins were sitting.

The event continued smoothly with lots of laughter, music, and fun. People were eating, chatting, and dancing, enjoying the celebration.

An hour later, Layla had left the event center with her husband and kids. It was past 11 PM, and Ammar was already asleep, thank God. She thought to herself, Tomorrow is Saturday. Finally, some rest.
