CHAPTER 4- The Job Offer part 2

Getting off the bus, with my small bag and two duffle bags in hand, I place my two larger bag straps on my shoulder and began to walk down the busy street of Philadelphia. This was only my second time being on this side of the city; however, it still was one of the most interesting and nicest parts.

The way the people looked as they walked down to their big business buildings and high class shops in there tailored suits and expensive dresses, made me wonder how it would feel to have their lives. I wondered what it would feel like to not have to worry about money or anything for that matter.

Glancing around some more as I weaved myself around all the distracted men and women on their cell phones and Bluetooth's without a care in the world about anything else, I tried not to feel envious of them. I quickly picked up my pace when I remembered I was on a time limit and tried to hurry the rest of the way towards the place Cole requested to meet.

Thinking of our meeting place, I rolled my eyes as I thought about how awkward it was going to be once I stepped foot in that place again. I really didn't want to go back to that restaurant with its uptight manager and snobby hostess, especially since just a day ago they had denied me a job there. I almost cringed on the phone when Cole told me to meet him at the same restaurant I had just applied at. I wished I could have referred another meeting place, but I was not in any position to be making calls like that especially when this guy was pretty much handing me a job.

Shaking my head at that last thought as I continued to walk down the busy sidewalk, I let a small smile form on my lips. It still was unbelievable to me how of all nights I ran into this Cole Sullivan guy on the day I lost practically everything. It was like he was sent to me purposely to switch my bad luck around and I wasn't complaining, my smile being evidence of that.

Pulling myself out of my thoughts I noticed I was coming up on the restaurant, Elite Cucina, and hitched my duffle bags up more on my shoulder as I came to stand in front of the place.

The place looked to be slightly busier than when I was here on yesterday, and instead of one man working the valet there were two. The building still looked as nice as ever, even if I hated this place now, I couldn't deny that. Its rustic looking theme and stained glass windows and doors made it look inviting.

Standing a little off to the side now of the nice building now, I narrowed my eyes at it in annoyance as flashes of how horrible my interview went yesterday came flooding back to me. If it wasn't for this meeting I was about to have with, what may be my future boss, I would have never even considered stepping foot in this place again.

Knowing I didn't have that much time before it was officially time for me to meet with Cole, I walked up to the door, quickly glancing at my reflection in the glass door window to try and fix my appearance even though it was pointless and then pulled it open and went inside.

Just like I remembered it the inside of the restaurant was just as stunning. If I didn't hate it so much I probably would enjoy the beauty of it more. The floors were a nice deep dark wood, the walls were painted a creamy tan and in some places there were exposed brick. The lighting was dim giving the place a warm and intimate feeling and there was soft music coming from a piano player near the front of the restaurant.

Walking up to the hostess stand, I instantly recognized the hostess to be the one from yesterday. I quickly tightened my face into a fake smile as I approached her, remembering how rude and snobby she was to me yesterday when I walked in. Yesterday she took one look at me before rolling her eyes and going back to whatever she was doing at that time. After waiting for a moment or two I noticed she had no intention on acknowledging me and I ended up having to tell her why I was actually there.
