Chapter 6- Things are not as they seem part 2

For centuries, people in history have recorded important milestones and events that changed their entire world forever. People have made it known of the inventions they have created and the great findings they have uncovered. But out of all the history I have ever read, mythical stories and legends of mythical creatures have not been one I have ever let myself believe is true. I've always considered stories of creatures with inhuman abilities and immortal ways was just made up characters one would read in a fictional story or watch in a fantasy film.

Never in my life did I think I would actually be staring into the dark eyes of one. Never in my life did I think I would be inches away from what I read to be a creature of the night. But as I sat there in the back of Cole's Mercedes, pushed up against the backseat passenger side door with fear itched onto my features, all doubt about the existence of vampires had faded away from my mind. For now I was right next to one and I have never been so afraid in my entire life.

Fear had flooded my body the minute I twisted around to see Cole and his very pointy fangs smirking at me just moments ago. Fear had flooded me then and it has taken over now as I sat there in my place stock still with shock. No I didn't deny what I was staring at nor did I try to argue with myself about what I was seeing. No, I knew exactly what Cole was and I knew what he could do. And for that I didn't move, I sat there my breathing coming in shaky pants, and my hands clenched into tense fists at my sides.

I sat in that back seat for what seemed like forever as I stared wide-eyed into Cole's black orbs. I couldn't find the strength to pull my gaze away from his as my fear grew. I couldn't say anything, I couldn't make a sound all I could do was stare and so I did. I stared silently nothing running through my mind anymore except for one word, one word only... vampire.

I guess Cole was satisfied with my silence as he hovered a little closer towards me making a shiver spread down my spin before opening his mouth, fangs pulling my attention for a moment before I snapped my eyes back up to his black ones, "As I said before, it would be wise of you not to try and break the contract... and running will be considered a breach of contract. I know you didn't get to look over the entire contract so let me spell it out for you. You are mine for a year, you will do as I request, you will live with me, and you will not try and breach the contract... I don't want to have to kill you Amelia, so be a doll and comply."

Cole spoke with such finality and authority that all I could do is numbly nod my head in agreement. I was still in complete shock and the words he just spoke only seconds ago made my fear and shock grow ten fold. 'He would kill me if I didn't comply', I thought to myself as I slowly nodded my head towards him. I didn't want to die, I haven't even gotten to do anything with my life yet, or find true love or even have a real family. I couldn't die yet not now.

I heard Cole's low, deep and smooth chuckle as I stared at his beautiful face. How could a man so incredibly gorgeous and who I thought was kind and trusting turn into the smug, cocky and devious vampire I sat before right now? It was crazy how much I wanted to trust him when I first met him. I never trusted anyone in my entire life, never let anyone in and the moment I decided that Cole was someone I could trust I end up being manipulated into a contract that wasn't at all what it seemed.

I let my desperateness drive me and blind myself from all rational thinking and reasoning. Now I was in a very bad situation, a situation that I knew I could not get out of.

Suddenly, Cole was not in front of me any longer and I had to blink a few times to make sure I saw that right, he moved so fast I barely even noticed. I felt the car come back to life as Cole began to drive through the now pitch black city.
