Chapter 33- week 3 part 2

How convenient is it that the moment I decide I’ve had enough of their games, they show up out of nowhere, after leaving me alone for two weeks, ready and willing to talk; about what I still wasn’t sure and that in itself had me slowly twisting the lock back in place before setting it back down on the table along with the bracelet and key.

Needing to regain some control over my emotions, I quickly closed my eyes as I began to slowly take a few cautious steps away from the table. When I felt myself relax a bit I peeled my eyes back open and glanced at the closed bedroom door and all the items scattered along the floor near it. The thick pages of the sketch pad that Jayden had given me were everywhere lining the floor along with the Kendall’s necklace, my eyes spotting it lying limply against the wall that separated the door and nightstand near the bed.

Guilt began to take root inside me as I stared silently at the mess I had made in my moment of anger and frustration. Shaking my head I quickly headed over to the array of white pages on the floor and began to gather them up, stacking them one by one in a pile beside me. As I sat on my hands and knees cleaning up, my eyes stopped suddenly on one lone page that was stuck between the back of my nightstand and the wall behind it. Grabbing it, I went to place it with the other detached pages I had put beside me, but instead stopped immediately as I got a better look at the drawing that covered most of its front.

It was the portrait of me Jayden had drew before he had given me the sketch book. Seeing the sketch again, and the words he had written next to it, had me feeling even more guilty for the damage I caused, its edges were wrinkled and bent now. Breathing out a heavy sigh, I stood to my feet, taking the stack of thick paper with me, and placed them beside the lamp on my nightstand, trying but failing to smooth and fix the edges of Jayden’s drawing.

When I realized it was a lost cause to try and fix what I had deliberately messed up, I left the stack of pages on my nightstand and went over to retrieve the necklace I had thrown. Picking it up from its spot against the wall, I let out a frustrated groan as I saw the state it was in. Its chain was tangled and knotted and the three hearts that hung from the chain were twisted around each other.

Looking at the necklace, I started to feel even worse than before. Kendall’s necklace was a tangled mess and it was all because I decided to have a temper tantrum like a child. Sighing loudly, I placed the necklace on top of Jayden’s sketch. There was no use trying to fix it at the moment because right now I had other issues to deal with and those issues were named Cole, Jayden and Kendall.

Reluctantly, I straightened my shoulders and decided it was time to stop stalling. The brothers and their parents were expecting me and I just hoped, whatever it is they want to talk about, won’t add to the rapidly growing list of unanswered questions I have rolling about in my head. I don’t need anymore confusing stories or lies, I need the truth, that’s all I was interested in now.
