THE LIST

Chapter 2

After every trip Grandma would come home to her grandson and she would talk to Taehyung about the wonderful young man that was taking care of their home in New York. She would tell Tae about their wonderful conversations and about how great this young man was. However, Tae didn't payed attention much about that subject. He was not interested in hearing about this guy and how wonderful he was. Tae was not interested in socializing with people. During his time in the university he would attend school, go home and do the same thing all over again the next day. Every morning their driver would take him to school, and every afternoon the driver would pick him up to take him home. During the weekend Tae would study, do homework and focus on photography since he loved taking pictures of beautiful things. His only friend was his next-door neighbor. His next-door neighbor was two years older than him and unfortunately for Tae his best friend Min Yoongi (next- door neighbor) decided to study abroad, and they would only talk or text from time to time. Once Yoongi graduated he came back to Dengu and started working with Grandma as the VP of Kim's' Hotels for the western region.

After Tae graduated from the university Grandma kept feeling week and felt more concern about the future of her grandson. She talked to her lawyers. She prepared for her funeral and arranged all paperwork to name her grandson as the sole heir of the family fortune. However, she also had other plans for her grandson.

Grandma unfortunately kept feeling worse. Her health declined drastically in just a few weeks. During that time Tae did not left her side. He kept asking her to be strong and to get better because he did not want to be alone. Grandma told Tae to be strong and make him promised her that he would find happiness in her absence. She told him she would be watching over him just like his mom and dad were. She also made Tae promised that he would follow the instructions she left for him on her will. She told him he was going to find love and live a happy life and told him to never stop smiling.

Then the day came where Tae held his grandmother hand as she took her last breath. He was devastated and felt his heart breaking into pieces. He felt alone even though he was with his grandmother in a room full of people surrounding him. His best friend Min Yoongi was with him and he gave him strength to keep going.

But even then, Tae never felt that alone.

After his grandmother service Yoongi took Tae home and helped him to his room. Yoongi moved to the guess room in Tae's house so that he could keep an eye on him, also as a request from Grandma before she died.

Tae was devastated. Yoongi had to pretty much force him to eat, even force him to shower. Yoongi would push Tae out of bed and force him to take walks outside. After a couple of weeks Tae started to get up from bed on his own. He didn't have to be forced to eat and he would walk outside on his own wile Yoongi would stay in bed. However, Yoongi still kept an eye on Tae since he knew his friend was still devastated.

After 30 days of grandmas passing, her lawyers met with Tae to read her will. Kim Namjoon a close family friend and their business lawyer came to the Kim's' home to read the will. Tae wanted to be appointed the President of the family business. Tae thought that this position would keep him occupied enough to numb the pain he was feeling in his heart. After all the lost he has suffered the pain had become unbearable. He saw the responsibilities of taking over the family business as a way for him to deal with that pain.

Namjoon: Thank you for having me here and let me just say that I know everything still recent, but I am following your grandmother wishes.

Taehyungs: It's fine, thank you for coming hyung.

Namjoon proceeded to read from the will. The first part were words directed to Taehyung.

My sweet Tae, first of all I know you must be devastated and full of grief. I hoped I had more time with you to see the next stage of your life, where you find your place in this world, where you find love, and form a family of your own. Even though things didn't work out the way we plan, I want you to know that I am watching over you. I will always watch over you so do not forget that my sweet Tae. I know you like the palm of my hand, and I know you will get through this and every single challenge that might come your way. You are a strong, intelligent young man with a great heart so let that guide you through life. I also want to apologize to you since what you are about to hear might not necessarily be what you are expecting but do know that the decisions I have made are for your own good.
