Chapter 24

Kook was laying down on the couch with Tanie on his chest when the others got notifications on their phones. Jin sighted on relief when he read Tae's message. Joon, J-hope and Mark did the same. Kook sat down and took his phone from the coffee table to check and see if he had any messages like the others. To his surprise there was no messages. His face showed a sad expression.

Jin: Kook, don't worry. I am sure he will text you or call you any minute.

Kook: I don't know hyung. I think I lost Tae...

A single tear rolled down his cheek. The others just watch with sadness. All of the sudden the phone ring. Kook was surprise to see that it was Tae calling. Jin was next to him.

Jin: I told you he would call you. Now go to your room or Tae's room to take the call. We'll wait here for you.

Kook went down to his apartment running. As he was closing the door, he answered the phone.

Kook: Tae?

Tae: I just wanted to tell you that I am fine. Please stop calling me and texting me.

Kook: Tae, please let me explain, or read your messages... please baby...

Tae: Just answer me one question Jungkook... Was he the one that kept calling you?

Kook: Y...yes but is not what you think Tae...

Tae: So, is not like I think uh? How is it Jungkook? He went to you and kissed you... You have been talking to him and every time I asked you about the calls you said everything was alright when it wasn't. What kind of sick game where you playing?

Kook: Tae, please you have to believe me babe. Everything happened so fast. That meant nothing to me.

Tae: I need time to think, and I think you should think to... I have to go Jungkook...

Kook: Tae, please let me explain babe. Please tell me where you are. Remember we promise we would stay close even when we are mad at each other. Please Tae, I need you baby...

Tae: You talk about promises. You said you love me and went and kiss someone else. That is how loyal you are to promises and that is how much you need me. Have a good night Jungkook.

Tae ended the call. Kook went to his room and laid down on his bed. He took Tae's pillow in his arms. He could still smell Tae's scent. He closed his eyes while hugging the pillow tight and breathing the scent of his lover. Tears rolling down his cheek and sobs traveling around the room. Kook felt his heart aching. Tae on the other hand went back to his bed under the covers. He didn't want to cry anymore. He had decided he was going to do what he had planned to do before he met Jungkook.

Tae had decided that he was going to stay in the penthouse until June and go back to Korea to take his place as the President of Kims' Hotels. He could still manage the hotels from there and have Yoongi taking care of the new headquarters. He was going to buried himself in work to avoid any more pain. He didn't want to suffer anymore. He just had to be there for a few months.

Jin decided to go and check on Kook. He got a cup of tea and headed to his apartment with Tanie following behind him. He knocked on the door but didn't get an answer. He entered slowly and Tanie ran to Kook's room. Jin follow the puppy. He could hear sobs coming from behind the door. Jin knocked again but didn't get an answer. Worry about Kook, he decided to enter the room. He got close to the bed where Kook was laying hugging a pillow. Jin sat by Kook and placed a hand on Kooks back in an attempt to comfort the crying boy.

Jin: Kookie, what happen? Did you talk to Tae?

Kook: He didn't give me time to explain myself. He doesn't believe me hyung and I don't blame him.

Jin: I don't know what exactly happen but sometimes is best to take some alone time and give the other person their space to think. I know it must be hard, but you guys are meant for each other. I know this is not the end of the two of you. This is just a rough patch and I am sure you two will figure it out.

Kook: I am afraid he is going to leave me hyung. I cannot be without him. I need him by my side.

Jin: Kookie, you have to be strong. We are all worry about the two of you. Look at poor Tanie, even he is worry about you. He can sense your emotions. Sit up and drink the tea. It will help you calm down. You also need to sleep, it's late.

Kook: Thank you hyung.

Jin: I am going to leave you to rest. The rest of the guys and I will stay upstairs. If you need anything just call me. I don't think Tanie wants to leave you, so I am going to leave him with you.

Kook: Hyung, thank you and thank the others for me. Good night.

Jin: You don't have to thank us for anything. We are family and that is what families are for. Good night Kookie.

Jin went upstairs and left Kook with Tanie. Unfortunately, this was too much for Kook and he was not able to sleep. He spent the night tossing and turning while thinking about his precious Tae and the possibilities of losing the love of his life.

Even though Tae had already made a decision about his next move, he was still hurting. After hanging up the phone, he could not stop thinking about Kook, and all the beautiful moments they had together. He cried for a few hours again, until he finally felt a sleep.

The following day Joon and J-hope had to go to work. Mark had school and Jin stayed home with Kook and Tanie. Yoongi had called Jin to let him know him and Jimin where finishing up some important things so they could get back to NY the following week.

Kook did not get any sleep during the night. He got up from bed to work on some schoolwork. He was in his studio submitting his assignment and studying for the following assignment but felt a sleep. He woke up in the afternoon. He put his books away and went to take a shower and change. He was not going to stay home and wait for Tae to forget about him. He had decided to go look for him.

Kook decided to go to Tae's company headquarters hoping someone might have seen him. He entered the building and went to the receptionist desk. Unfortunately, the lady had told him she was there until closing time and she did not see him. The only other place that he could have gone was his hotel, so Kook headed there next. He remembered Tae talking about a penthouse on the top floor made exclusively for them.

Knowing Tae wouldn't want to talk to him, Kook decided to go straight to the penthouse. He went into the building and headed to the elevator. Once the elevator got to the top floor the doors opened and Kook got out. There was only a set of double doors, so he went ahead and knock on the door.
