The next place I find myself is in the principal's office with three other chairs in line, across from me. Tariq beside me, Shane beside him and the girl on the farthest end. We're all seated in front of the principal's desk. He interlocks his ashy fingers and leans forward, placing his elbows on his desk and his hands under his chin. But with all of his disturbing appearance, I don't think anything could annoy me more than his choice of colors.

Can you get this over with for crying out loud!

"My name is Principal Errol Hutchinson. I'm not sure if you four went through your student handouts.. but there are rules in there that clearly state that we have zero tolerance for violence." His eye contact stuck on me at the word "violence" as I stare back at him, not even trying to act like I care.

I've heard all the stupid theories about my bored and emotionless face expressions, even in situations when I should be worried. And I know damn well this is one of those situations.

But why? Because I'm unapologetic towards jerks like Tariq and Shane. I find it so annoying that they always get away with being knuckleheads.

"Neither do we accept any form of harassment. Whether physically, verbally, and worst of all, sexually. Tariq and Shane, you should know better. You both are sophomores which means you've been here for a whole year already." He adds as this time his glare is piercing at Tariq and Shane.

"She was just trying to help me, I swear. They made her do it." The girl interjects.

"It doesn't matter what happened. You people are grown and know exactly what you're doing. I will not be telling college students how to behave and you've been in schools long enough to know the rules. Your parents are spending a lot of money to get you the best education and that's why I'll be letting you all off with a warning. Now, it's clear that you four are up to no good," he squints his eyes behind his glasses making me want to laugh, "but if I see your faces in my office again, it's an automatic suspension and no one can debate that. Do I make myself clear?"

"Yes." We all mumble in unison.

"Leave my office." He waves us off and we all grab our stuff and exit.

I pace straight for class when I hear someone calling out from behind.

"Hey! Wait up." I take a glimpse behind and detect that it's the same girl, still not interested in taking a proper look at her.

"Thank you.. you know, for what you did back there? Those guys were so annoyi.."

"Don't mention it." I say stopping her speech as I take a turn, disappearing around a corner.

I sensed that she stopped, and watching me walk away, then I hear her coming up to me from behind again.

"Really, I owe you one. If you ever need any help.."

"Stop following me. I'm only gonna say it once." My tone is so rested, it intimidates her. Her footsteps halt and I continue to walk, disappearing around another corner.

Dang, this school is literally a maze.

I arrive at the door of my class without getting lost, a class that has already started. Pushing it open and walking in then immediately glance directly to the back of the class and luckily there's a seat in the back, left corner. I find this perfect because that way, I can view the entire room. A classroom is probably harmless but I always rather to have a clear visual of my surroundings.

"You must be Jada White." The lecturer  beams.

"I am." I reply holding my bag straps at my sides.

"My name is Professor Alrick Ellis, you can call me Al." His lips now form into a wider smile and I'm not sure why are people this nice for no reason. I nod in agreement.

"You're late. Please, take a seat." He gestures towards the classroom as I head to the back at my already desired seat.

I can feel a few stares shooting at me. I want to turn around and say "next time take a picture while you're at it, will ya?" But my mom's voice echoes in my head "be nice." And knowing exactly what she means, I sinply ignore my surroundings and try my hardest to complete the day without breaking someone else's nose.

After school is over, I head straight to my dorm room. I enter to find nobody. That means I'm alone and silence is music to my ears. I drop my body onto the bed, letting out a deep breath.

What a day..

Sensing a vibration from my phone to find an incoming call from my dad. I know exactly what they're calling about so I simply ignore it and await the voicemail, which I know he will leave. An iMessage comes in from my mom.

"Fighting in your first day of school? Honey, please... please stay out of trouble. The school called us and we can't keep protecting you because of the influence we have with them. Again... be nice!"

"Big misunderstanding. Won't happen again." I reply.

"We love you."

"I love ya too."

I lock my phone screen and toss it aside, closing my eyes and embracing the room's silence, wondering what the next 4 years will bring. I don't want the chaos neither am I interested in being apart of any notorious college happenings. Friends are overrated and so are relationships.

Then the door opens.

Well the tranquillity didn't last long at all.

I sit upright to look over.

"It's you!" She squeals excitedly, throwing down her bag on her perfectly made bed.

I raise an eyebrow at her confused.

"Today? You hit that guy in the nose?" She jumps in her bed as I begin to remember.

I didn't even take a good look at her, she was my roommate all along.
