Previously On Triplets Apart:
Jada flees the room to release some of her anxiety alone which she's followed by Tyrell. As they speak about the issue at hand, Mariyah overhears everything and storms off to seek answers from her mother. They all chase behind her, even Cameron after spotting out that something is intensely wrong. David's office is then filled with all parties involved, some in question, some in shock and a thousand more emotions floating throughout the room.***
Well shit. So this was definitely not how I planned for it to go. I would take Cameron to my dad and tell the entire story to him and everyone involved, then show him the DNA test for proof. Everything is all going down hill.
Mariyah shoots a deadly glare at her mother.
"18 years ago when I was pregnant with you, Cameron here was also pregnant with David's child. She was a maid in our home and he fell in love with her. Your father was running for president and I got caught up in the fast lane, that's why your father didn't love me anymore, because I've grown into this possessive and greedy woman. David didn't know that she was pregnant because I got to her first. I.." Rebecca intakes a soft breath before eventually stops talking and Cameron picks up the peices..
"Your mother wanted to hold the title of First Lady and become powerful. So bad that she threatened to kill me if I didn't give Jada away. Yes, I'm Jada's real mom, she's your sister." Cameron reveals and Mariyah places a palm over her opened mouth, frozen in her current state.
"She knew David was a good man and he would've been there for his kids, but if that was to get out there, he would've lost the election. Rebecca knew that the citizens of America wouldn't vote for him because of his infidelity. When I gave birth, she sent her men to my house that she bought in my name back in Illinois and they kidnapped my babies away from me. They were only a week old. I cried night and day, I went into deep depression for months because of it. Even therapy couldn't help. My real name is Cameron Fernandez but your mother wiped my identity clean and placed me under the name 'Susan Grey'. She knew that David would've came looking for me, and if he had found me, I would've told him everything she did to me. Your mother didn't just take my identity, my babies and my love.. she also ripped children from their father, and deprived you of sisterhood." My mom says to Mariyah with tears gushing from her eyes but her tone is still firm. I can tell she's trying her best to stay strong; she's been waiting on this moment for way too long to fold at this point. She had 18 years to prepare.
Mariyah staggers backwards in shock but I hold her and stabilizes her body, giving her a chair to sit instead. She stares at the floor devastated as I rub her shoulder in attempt of maintaining her sanity. I scowl. She stares at me in deep thought and then glances at my mom.
"What do you mean babies?" She asks my mom with knitted brows.
"My love, Jada is a triplet." My mom tells her and Mariyah gasps.
"Mariyah, you don't only have one sister, you have three. I was the one who gave Jada away and I felt terrible about it. It ate me up inside for years." Tyrell adds, sincerity now in his voice.
Mariyah shoves her face in her hands as she cries. She looks back up at Tyrell with less emotions.
"But you still agreed to do it!" She gets up and shouts at Tyrell.
"Because my son was ill! Tariq is my son, he had a terminal illness as a child. I had just officially became a lawyer, it was going okay but I was only a district attorney at the time and I didn't have a lot of clients. Tariq's treatment cost roughly four hundred thousand dollars in total and Rebecca offered to pay every cent if I did this one favor for her, or she'd have her influences in the hospital had him killed. Either way, he would've died if I refused to help Rebecca so I chose to make him live, he's my son, I love him. He was only 1 year old. She pulled some strings for me to get in the big league and that's how I became a high profiled lawyer, working with her and other extremely powerful people. Tariq and Amra was born months apart by different mothers so I had to provide a decent life for them both." He pleas and Mariyah switches her glare to her mother after understanding his side.
