I gaze at Tyrell in deep thought for a few seconds before sighing and looking away.
"Can I be alone?" I ask softly.
"Sure." He taps my shoulder and leaves.
Boy oh boy, I really need to fall asleep and wake up five years later. Or the year after that.
Tariq is in love with me? My face slowly turns into a smile. I continue to look at the red rose.
I wonder how will my life change after this when I return to school. Especially now that Kyrie's there. Shit, Kyrie!
"Hi." Tariq's husky voice pulls me out of my thoughts and I literally forget about everything I was thinking just now. I look over at him standing in all his glory and then look ahead of me.
He takes a seat beside me.
"I have something to tell you." I say softly.
"Mariyah is your sister." He says and I glance at him.
"You knew?"
"I saw you and my dad rushing behind her upstairs, I thought something was wrong with you so I followed. I overheard the whole thing. I'm sorry. Why didn't you tell me?"
"I just wanted to.. get it right. It's a horrible story so I chose not to burden anyone."
Taking my palm in his, he squeezes it. I inhale deeply and exhale, shivers travel through me from his gesture which I've grown to adore so much.
"These battles you choose to fight alone." He sighs and I look down at the rose.
"It is all so scary."
"But you did it. You did it." He tells me proudly and I smile and look at him, of course he's already looking at me. His beautiful eyes are filled with sincerity.
"Miss White?" Someone calls from behind and I look around to see Tia.
"Yes?"
"The president would like a word." She informs me, I nod.
"Come with me." I tell Tariq.
"Okay." He squeezes my hand once more.
I head up to my father's office and Tariq follows. Entering the office to see everyone standing around, mom, my dad, Mariyah, Rebecca, Tyrell and the two men she sent for.
"Mr. Dé'Neilio, you sent for me?"
"Please Jada, call me dad."
It seems I didn't need that DNA test after all.
"We've gotten the names of my other two girls. They're safe and well, we'll send their information to Tyrell soon." He smiles. I can tell he's relieved a bit.
"These two men, Robert and Anthony (Tony), done some digging and found the information. They were the ones who did the other two adoptions, one assigned to each child." My mom adds and a wave of relief washes me.
"The thing is, one of the girls are living in Brazil and the other is in Paris, France." My dad chimes in.
I close my eyes, placing a hand on my forehead, the other on my hip as I turn around in frustration.
Curse you Rebecca.
"How on earth are we going to get them here?" Mariyah asks just as frustrated as I am, she raises her hands and drops them down.
"I think your mother should figure that one out. She's the one who gave them away, she'll be the one to bring them back." I glare at Rebecca, watching how she's rambling through her mind trying to come up with something.
"You better fix this, Rebecca!" David growls.
"Okay, okay. Let's see... I'll arrange an event, I'll have personalized invitations send out to them each." She says.
"Sounds like a plan, who wouldn't want to attend a function at the White House, no one would turn down an invitation like that. Except for the fact that they'd have to take planes to come here. Aren't they gonna wonder why would the First Lady invite people that have to take planes to get here? What's so special about them?" Tyrell asks.
"He has a point." I add, trying to make this as difficult as possible for Rebecca.
"The couples that I chose for the babies are all very powerful and influential people. Well at least, I made sure of that. That's the number one reason for them to understand why they're being invited, we're all connected. Where they are today is mainly because of me. You see Jada, the oil company your father owns, I bought it for him. He accepted it in exchange to take you as their child but they didn't know you were David's child, they knew nothing about that part, I refused to tell them. Further along, he bought another company for himself, a shipping company, I think. He was in the army and I had his contract terminated without any penalties to give him a better life by owning his own company. According to my researches, they were looking into adoption, it was the perfect bargain. A year later, Charlotte got pregnant on her own." Rebecca states.
"She's right. She has significant ties to all these families, they'll come." Tyrell agrees.
"I'll arrange the flights for my men here to deliver the invitations to them and let them know it's from me and flights will be prepared for them to attend." She adds in reference to Robert and Anthony.
"No." I oppose and everyone glances at me.
"Jada?" David questions.
"You'll go yourself. You won't send any of these men to these people's houses, you've had them doing your dirty work for years. You'll go to Brazil and you'll go to Europe and you'll invite them personally." I state sternly, pointing an index at Rebecca.
"I'm the First Lady of the United States, I can't just be anywhere out there." She tells me.
"Then you'll travel with an army behind you, your majesty. So call up your troops and your soldiers because you are going!" Mariyah says mockingly but in a serious tone with a deadly glare at her mom.
"But.. when I get those people here, what's going to happen after that? What about their families?" Rebecca asks.
"What about OUR family?!" Cameron shouts.
"Rebecca, you started this mess, you'll fix it." David's tone is rested as he places his hands in his pockets.
"For the first time, you'll know what it's like to be out in the field, cleaning up after yourself. Good luck." I tell Rebecca with a smile.
She huffs before she attempts to storm out.
"And honey?" David brings her steps to a halt, she turns around. "When this is all said and done, I want a divorce." His words cause her mouth drops open in shock as the aftermath after divorce flashes across her mind.
"What?!" She hisses.
"Get the hell out of my sight." He spits back harshly but calm enough. She turns on her heels and storms out.
My smirk widens as I raise one brow.
