Sitting in thought of my mother, how can I not think about her? Her bored facial expression, her eyebrows knitting, her smile, her love for flowers, her love for me... She is everything that I am and I am everything that she is. For some immensely weird reason, I slightly, just slightly wished Tariq would've been there to experience that life changing moment with me. If I wasn't so secretive and mentally rough, I probably would admit to him that he somehow possesses the ability to calm me in intense situations. I don't know how and the fact that he doesn't even knows it freaks me out. Even though Mariyah and I are different in our own ways, we are very much alike. I am the rebellious one and she's the sweet one. But I can also be a sweet and caring person, I'm just waiting to see what makes her rebellious and that'll make us equal.
I really want her to know. But why keep it from her though?
My mind also wanders on the fact that the new student at my school is Kyrie and every time I think about it, I feel unsettled; which is why I try not to think about it. Confused? Okay, let's retrace our steps.
After threatening Cody's life, I kind of skipped the part where I ran straight into Kyrie while walking to my friends and the fact I could feel Tariq's gaze on me from a far makes the exchange even more tense. I specifically asked him what he was doing at my game and he specifically responded by saying he's starting school next Monday; apparently he got transferred and now I want a transfer of my own.
I snap out of my trance when familiar voices walk up to me, chatting to each other. As usual, I'm sitting alone at a gazebo at lunch time picking around my food.
"Hey! Come back." Cody snaps his fingers in front of my face. Glancing up at him, I smile.
They take seats around me. Cody, Mariyah and Tariq.
"So tomorrow is the big event. We still haven't went shopping as yet. Maybe we can go to the Versace store out in the city later before we go home?" Mariyah asks.
                              "Uhh.. yeah." I say.
                              "Cody is coming." She adds.
Letting out an annoyed sigh, "She forced me to." Cody mutters and Mariyah nudges him in the ribs with her elbow.
"Are you going?" I ask Tariq.
"Hmmm, I don't think so. Those type of big fancy events are not my thing." He shrugs.
"Exactly!" Cody throws his hands up, dropping them back on his thighs as Mariyah rolls her eyes.
"So who's arm am I gonna be on?" I coo and he immediately turns his eyeballs to me. Giving him my version of my puppy dog face, he smiles and shakes his head amused at my lame attempt of being sweet. I personally cringe inwardly at the thought and regret doing that act just now.
"Okay. I'll be your plus one." He shrugs, I chuckle and wiggle his cheek. Laughing at him rolling his eyes from the annoyance that gave him.
"Great, so we're all in!" Mariyah grins.
A group of girls are passing and one of their drink spills, glazing Mariyah's Gucci top.
"What the hell!" I yell, already jolted up from my seat. Mariyah grabs my arm instantly, pulling my back down.
